    I started tearing up watching this, it reminds me of what America was and what it could have been.

      CartoonPhilosopher yeah but you're not thinking of what America is now. The bison have been saved by that same america. We're not all bad like people seem to think. There are many great people that live here and do much to help nature and the planet.

      @@segarza yeah but the whites killed them off in late 1800's to take away the natives life line.. disgraceful

    I'll be honest, I felt really teary eyed around 1:26.... so amazing to be that close. So sad to see such an animal hunted to near extinction just to decimate another type of species (humans; Native Americans). Glad they are coming back.

    I put this video on mute because I was just using the images of the magnificent buffalo to help me write 'heartland' sounding music on my piano, then suddenly 3:25 happened. Wasn't expecting that. Kinda killed the mood a little.

      Killed the mood...That's is one hell of a pun. Keep in mind, buffalo were effectively a general store for plains tribes. I am glad they weren't wiped out since I'm a bigger believer we can be both takers and givers to the land. Teddy Roosevelt is one of my favorite conservations.

    They are not buffalo. Buffalo are found in Africa. They are Bison.

    Poor pasture, poor thin cows, and poor thin bison...good grief.

    I can hear Bill Clinton in his voice - but I won't hold that against him.And I completely get the bison attraction,an enviable position in life is his.

  • @segarza

    1:35 That is not a 3000 pound animal.

    • @timothydean9407
      @timothydean9407 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly...not even close to 3000 lbs...also "rolling grasslands"...looks like pretty poor overgrazed ground to me.

    • @segarza
      @segarza 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Timothy Dean yep, the bison need to move on to new grazing land. the native grasses can't recover properly with the animals constantly eating it down and trampling on it.

    I'm surprised he doesn't have a bumper guard.
    it seems like an animal could find itself in front of the truck and there goes the radiator and whatever else cooling accessories he has on the front of that

    At 2:04 They actually were extinct in the US. So, Americans had to take Canadian bisons for repopulation.

    • @sc0rp1onbit3

      +uchihasurvival Actually, some managed to survive in Yellowstone. These were some of the last vestige herds..

    • @BiggestBisonLover
      @BiggestBisonLover 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      uchihasurvival yeah there were some left in Yellowstone but not enough so they bred them with cattle. I don't think there are any purebred, original bison left in the US I think they all have cow blood in them

    • @skywatcher1972
      @skywatcher1972 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      A lot of Misinformation here. Bison were driven to near extinction in both countries; Canada only has 3-4,000 Wood Bison left even now. The American herds (some are pure Bison) were started primarily from American parks. There are now at least 50,000. . . .

    • @MRGF78
      @MRGF78 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are pure bison...
      They've kept them pure to preserve them...
