What a great story. I never farm before but I'm getting interested in starting my own farm, maybe in the future with goats in mind. Why goats? well, they produced the best milk you can drink, you can make cheese, you can eat their meat. One of the best clean animals you can farm, and the meat is also very lean and succulent. Thank you for this insightful story.
I admire this farmer, l hope to some day become this successful in goat farming. I will take it one step at a time. It’s not really say to make it here in Africa
What breed are you looking for? I have two registered Mini Alpine doelings for sale.www.greenthomestead.com/mini-alpines.html winstonsalem.craigslist.org/grd/6156708667.html
Hello everyone, I am an Arab. I am 30 years old. My name is Said. I have experience in raising goats. What is your job? I have none of the stables that have left me. I am here. Thank you.
Zero lol. You don't simply make a decent living off goats. It's widely accepted in the goating world, that sometimes you manage to break even, other times you have a rather expensive hobby.
Hi hear am interested in goat farming alot am Ugandan based but luck enough capital I so far have 5 goats so any funder can help out pliz we talk more thanks

A goat gives milk for only about 260 days, then the milk production drops and the goats have to be inseminated again to become pregnant. So... what happens to the male babies? I didn't see any lambs at all in this video, so I assume they get separated with their mothers just after birth. Like cows.
Santiago Serial And then? Males won't produce milk so they won't bring any profit. Of course they are artificially fed, they can't drink their mom's milk, it's not for them obviously. But whatever, who needs a mother anyways... All people should know that behind all these super-duper-happy-natural-organic farms are still going on things like: 1. masturbating a male goat to get his semen 2. inserting the semen in a female's goat vagina to make her pregnant 3. separate the mother with it's new born baby because the milk her body produces for the lamb is meant for sale 4. repeat the cycle for a few times 5. send to slaughter when milk production drops from unnatural exhaustion after constant pregnancies-lactation Of course, a farm like this is still better than the industrial farms. But no matter how you look at it, it's not up to us to mess with their genitals and fluids, which are meant for their babies. Btw, I know that anyone can get breast cancer no matter what they eat and how they live, but just want to let know - breast cancer is also linked to dairy consumption.
+Julija Pavlenko not all farms are like that, I think for you to own that many does, they would definitely have to own a few bucks that remain separated, so when the does go into heat they will choose which buck they want to mate with them etc. As for the babies, yes every successful farm will take away the babies from their mothers after a day or two. Doing this makes the doe see you as their baby, and the kid see you as their mum, this makes the baby grow up friendly. Now if the doe has a buckling, they will either sell them as future registered bucks, or sell them to a slaughter house, depends what kind of farmers they are. I haven't come across any goat farm that inseminates a doe, it doesn't make sense to as they come into heat every year either way so there's no need to do that. There probably are farmers that do it somewhere, I know many cow farmers definitely do and I think it's very wrong.
Chelestina C What I find sad about all this, is that we see animals as property, and when they start to "break down" we just get "new ones". We ourselves would never want to be controlled by anyone more superior than us like that, yet we do it to other animals. We remove them from their natural habitats, we mess with their genetics to make them more profitable, we mutilate parts of their bodies and separate them from their mothers. We take away their basic birthright - their freedom, for our own selfish unnecessary needs.
A goat walks into a post office and says to the postmaster, “I need to send a telegram.” The postmaster replies, “OK, what is it?” The goat says, “I need it to say, ‘Maa maa maa maa maa maa maa.'” Counting the words, the postmaster tells the goat, “Well, for the same price, I can put four more ‘maas’ for you.” The goat looks at him and scoffs, “But then it wouldn’t make any sense!”
I am sorry to hear about the cancer but you are a great person you will do much greater things in life.
