Great stuff, going to give this a go with my 2009 i30. Only has 50,000k's on it and is falling apart! The steering bush died at 30,000 and pilot bearing at 40,000 🥲
Hi Rob,i know this is a old video. But i want to ask you something, maybe you will have the time to help me. I have a Kia Sportage from 2010,this car is doing also this think, and on top of that the turning lights and the exterior light dont work. I noticed that is doing only when i changing the gearbox fast from P to R,N and D. When i do it slowly there is no problem. To fix it i remove de battery ground and everything works fine. Any advise will be helpfull,i need to mension that i m a Diy guy ... thanks in advance.
I’ve been having similar problem with my (old) 2005 Hyundai Elantra. Dashboard panel, parker lights and tail lights have been cutting out. If the issue is similar to what you’ve shown then I hope for me it will be an easy fix.
@@romanosautomotive Interestingly, my issue seems to be around the odometer panel and not the tacho or speedo. I'll have a play with the dimmer today and report back what I find out.
@@romanosautomotive Removed the dimmer, reseated the plug and wiggled the cables. Didn't notice any change so I removed the instrument cluster and reseat all the connections (including disassembling and scoping out the problematic LCD). I didn't notice any change, the LCD is still very dull and patchy looking. Thanks again for an awesome video!!!
Could be a couple of things: there was a TSB from Hyundai to replace faulty LCDs in that central part, and mine has had that done which fixed the blotchy, sections off and on problem. But, I now have a new problem which is the central part (only) flickering like in this video, but unlike this video it's just the centre. I read up somewhere that this can be a sign of the LEDs dying in the central part, so I'm going to play with the dimmer a bit to see if I can fix it and if not solder on some new LEDs. Then I'll try and fix more of the constant rattles this car has.
damn, mine has a similar problem, but my odometer only flickers it does'nt go off like yours.......... i'll check out the dimmer switch like in your vid..... BTW is there any screws to get to the back of the dimmer switch or does it just pop out?
@@romanosautomotive Hi mate, yes i got the panel off thanks. However my issue is still happening with the display flickering.. It seems to happen when i activate the ignition, and then stops after a few seconds, but can go on longer... its really baffling......
Sir, There are 5 vertical thick shadows (not to confused with vertical lines) across the MID display unit at the centre console of my i20 2011. However, everything is displayed correctly even in these portion of vertical shadows. In these shaded portions, the display color appears less bluish in color whereas in the normal screen areas, the colour display is perfectly blue which is ok. The shadows is very irritating. So, please kindly help how to fix those shadows across the display screen. Thanks in advance.
saw mine today start twitching... strange if the problem is the dimmer as I barely touch it all these years. Hyundai quality.. even crazier this car is only 80k and mine is almost 120k, so that one is younger/less driven than mine already has this problem.
Great video thanks , i am seeing a lot of failures with clusters .
Too many cheap electronic components these days
good diag! 👌 Side note, those screens in the cluster were common to fail, and can be serviced separately from the cluster 👌
At 2:35, should there be a green advisory light to indicate main beam is on ?
Nice find Rob. Not always easy this kind of faults....
Sensacional! Resolvi em definitivo aqui do outro lado do mundo! obrigado!
Como vc resolveu amigo? Nao falo ingles nao entendi nada, me da uma luz ai

Thanks Cowdoy, hopefully it's the same problem and you solve it easily!

Thanks this was so helpful!
Very helpful. Please show more videos especially on i20 cars. Thanks.
same as the old jukeboxes, you had to know just where to bang 'em :)
take care, Rome...
That's usually the solution to everything!! Hope you are well Denis!
Great tutorial, thanks!
Hmm mine just started doing this. Ill have to give this a look.
Keep me updated!

Got the same problem on my i30. I'll have a look and see if it is also related to the dimmer.
Let me know if its the same issue Matthew. Thanks for watching.

Thanks Matthew, I'd be interested to see what you find.

Does this mode have Cruz control?
What about if your lcd display works some times an don’t others
Anyone got helpful tips on how to remove the shroud after the two first screws? Very hard to find and unlock these clips!

Just pops out. How did you go with this?

Hi George. This is a i30 and not a H1 like yours, but you might have a similar problem.
Does anybody know with Hyundai 2011 (ix35 diesel if info is needed) if I swap out the instrument cluster does anything need to be reprogrammed?
Does anyone knows if the instrument cluster lighting is all LEDs or it can be replaced? Thanks!

If you open this piece which controls the light ot the instrument cluster, just tighten two screws...
I just bought a new dimmerswitch its still not working
Did you test the original to make sure it was faulty before replacing it?
hallo i have this model of instrument cluster on my hyundai 94003a6510. And I'm searching for a digital one can somebody help me?
