    Thank you for this technique.
    Also, it's very refreshing to see a chess player on TH-cam that is interesting and serious about teaching. Too many chess TH-cam content creators will yell, get excited, swear and generally display a lack of self control that is so common on TH-cam. Thank you for being yourself and not a loud TH-cam personality. It's more enjoyable to watch your material.

    At 7:34 instead of castling, Rd8+ is better. The idea is that you want to play the move b5 after Kc3 instead of the rook sac. If you castle, then play b5 there is mate in 2 with Qa6+ Kb8 Qb7#. The move b5 takes advantage on the fact that the c4 pawn is pinned to the queen and the queen is stuck defending Qc2#

    Aren't you overlooking the line that after Nb4 white can play Bd3? That stops the queen check on e4. Black may get the advantage of trading knight for bishop but that is not quite the same disaster as outlined here

    • @SevenTheJester
      @SevenTheJester ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm glad somebody else noticed this, I was going to comment on it if no one else had. The line I'm looking at goes
      7. Bd3, Bf5
      8. o-o, Nxd3
      9. cxd3, e6
      White is definitely behind, with doubled pawns on the D file, and black has a better start on development, but it's a playable position, even if it's ugly. But please let me know if I missed something.

    • @SevenTheJester
      @SevenTheJester ปีที่แล้ว

      There's also a variation where black plays 7. ..., e6 to try to develop the dark square bishop, but in that line white actually comes out ahead. After:
      7. Bd3, e6
      8. o-o, Nxd3
      9. Qxd3
      Then
      9. ..., Bd6 makes it +1.3 for white or
      9. ..., Bb4 gives us +1.8 for white.

    • @SevenTheJester
      @SevenTheJester ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't get me wrong, though...I don't want to seem like I'm criticizing. Bd3 is a relatively hard move to find, and according to Lichess, only around 450 people have ever played it, out of more than two million games.
      So, yeah...this trap is definitely going to work way more often than not, and it's definitely worth knowing...I was just saying that it's not irrefutable. Still a great video, and I wasn't trying to imply otherwise. ✌️

    What's wrong with white playing 7- b-d3?

    This trick will not work if White plays Be2 instead of pawn to C3.

    So I ran this trap and the opponent took a suspiciously long time to make a move (~2 minutes of the 5 minute timer) after I delivered the check with the Queen. Then they found Kb2. I suspect they ran it through Stockfish. I still won though.

    Hello chess friends, I bought this course "My Thinking System" in the past and what can I tell you, it was the best investment I've ever made in my long chess career!!
    For this price, the digital quality is certainly not the newest on the market, but the "content" is first class! 🙂

    I tried this and lost two consecutive matches..
    Game 1: Opponent played bishop to G5..
    Game 2: Pawn to C5..
    Lesson: If you don't have enough ELO behind you to get out of out of the box scenarios, don't follow TH-cam tutorials..
