Yes I haven’t opened up the carb yet. I ordered a rebuilt kit . I also ordered a new cam because I decided the cam in it looks a little bit work and might be causing that chatter
Get that new cam in before tuning. Good call on replacing it. Also the valve train on these bike are naturally loud. Just make sure you adjust the valves properly and it should be fine. At very low rpm there’s a real loud click. It’s just the decomp knocking back and fourth because of the rpm being to low to fully disengage. Nothing to worry about.
I’m pretty sure that camshaft is toast. You can measure the lobes with come calipers and look in the service manual to see the service limit for it. I don’t know it right off the top of my head. But I’ve measured one that looked better than that and it was fried. Got lucky on eBay and found a good used one for cheap.
no coolant and no wide open airbox so its running lean sounds like a good mix to me lmao
A normal person would of washed the bike before tearing into the motor enjoy all the dirt in your motor

$400 is expensive for a whole cylinder kit? I paid $400 for a cr125 cylinder, just the cylinder, no studs or anything. 🥲
Well that’s because they don’t have any aftermarket support for cylinders , and once a nikasil cylinder is scratched/ gouged it’s basically junk
