casey, i watch your videos all the time and you always make me feel so much better about choosing PT. there’s never any videos on youtube that really show a typical day of a physical therapist. i appreciate this so much💜
Please continue to keep on paving the way to represent the underrepresented. This is motivating and I truly can admire the direction that you're going. You lead by example and you're doing a great job by showing others your success.
I am working as a PT Aid right now, a lot of the work you do my therapist has me do. It's honestly wild to me how much they allow an aid to do, but I'm just appreciative of the experience I've learned so much just from a month of work. I work 8 hours a day, some shifts are less but we get over 30 patients, usually is around 38 busy days gets worse, seems poorly run to me, I really like what you have. But despite the hustle and stress I love it and it's my favorite job so far, even if I'm doing underpaid labor for the therapist
You’re handsome btw and seems so awesome seems like you love your job so much! I start PT School on the 22nd and I am so excited and so ready to grind study etc so I can be a PT! :)
I worked as a tech at a few Ati locations for 2 years and was overworked with little pay 😮💨 That company almost made me reconsider going into the pt field
Also does your back tend to hurt? I notice lots of standing and squatting lol and the documentation do you do that for every patient? How long do they take you to fill it out and how often do you do them?
Yes technically we are Dr. Of physical therapy. But we are not medical doctors.I’ve seen PTs being called Dr. As more of a preference thing. Personally my patients only start calling me Dr if someone else mentioned I’m a DPT, they ask me about my schooling, or they see my white coat in the office.
Yup. Physio is usually outside the U.S. and does not require a doctorate degree. Physical therapist is in the U.S. and requires a doctorate physics therapy degree. However the clinical skills are pretty much the same. It’s just the legal paperwork, board exam, research requirements, and schooling are different
As I am from India , here firstly we need to do 4 and half year of Bachelor's of Physiotherapy and then 2 years of Masters .... So could you please tell about the procedure of Physiotherapist and a physical therapist ?
What's the happiness level in this? I'm really deciding to go ba k to school and start this. But idk if I'll be happy. Any days where it's stressful? How often do you touch patients feet? What's a sub type of career I can do with this degree?
Idk what your happiness level will be but I’m happy w my career. Some days are stressful like any other job would be. I don’t have a percentage to tell you on how often i tough feet, but if i need to touch them i touch them then wash my hands…no big deal Idk what you mean by sub career with a doctor of physical therapy degree
@@PETSWORLD_ There are cons for sure with this job especially with working at a place like ATI. He probably cannot be completely honest due to possible repercussions…

So sorry to hear that. Hope you’re doing better in a better environment for you.
I’m in the exact same position. That company has pretty much made me completely rethink going into pt lol.
Also does your back tend to hurt? I notice lots of standing and squatting lol and the documentation do you do that for every patient? How long do they take you to fill it out and how often do you do them?
The graduate gave me UTI vibes tbh. I will still check out the program though.
Do PTs still go by DR. Ive been wondering, as im looking into starting DPT school soon.

I believe what you are looking for a sub type of career would be a Physical Therapist Assistant most likely.
HOW MUCH DO YOU MAKE A MONTH AS A DPT?
Be honest brother, what is your happiness with this job 1-10?
8-9 depending on the day. Sounds like you want me to say lower though…brother…
@@preptgrind No, I may pursue this field in the future (pediatrics). However, I have heard a lot about the cons of the job so I'm just skeptical.
@@PETSWORLD_ What cons did you hear? The wage or the working hours?

Would it be a good idea to start of in a pre physical therapy program and get my foot in there ?
Yup that would be a great place to start
