- The dead-drift is king... Until It isn't
Eric Carter-Spurio of Anchor Fly spends a day on a fishery in Western North Carolina euro-nymphing on a euro-style mono-rig with euro jog streamers!!!
He explains that streamers dont have to be stripped or swung on high flow, muddy water//rainy days.
When euro-nymphing micro-jig streamers on a modular leader the angler can change up his/her presentation/retrieve and have increased success at catching
1) larger trout
2) more trout
3) without a lot of attention to fishing pressure

love your set up1 Can you give exact recipe for leader... 5ft of 20, 5 ft of 15, 5 ft of 12 to sighter with ring on sighter for tippet? Thanks.
Hi There!
The easiest way for us to get that to you is for you to subscribe to our newsletter here: eepurl.com/gSgR6v
This will automatically send you both 1) Our micro-leader formula & 2) This modular mono-rig.
Feel free to unsubscribe after it gets delivered, but again this is the easiest way to get you this formula.
Best,
Eric
Very interesting video. I was wondering if this technique is being used by comp anglers these days?
Thanks Alex!
I do spend a lot of time on the water, but am not a comp angler. With that said I do know comp anglers do use tight-line tactics... So there is that, but in terms of fishing micro-streamers as I describe in this video --I honestly cannot answer that.
Appreciate you!

Cool video! Do you get many tangles running 2 streamers?
Thanks! I dont get tangles and for those who do I think it is a matter of practicing casting. This is a euro setup so there is little to no false casting for me here which is where problems tend to happen.
Also, another tip to avoid problems in using two flies like this is to place your anchor fly on your dropper tag. I find that placing my heavier fly on the dropper minimizes twist.
Hope this helps!
Thanks! Tight lines!
Is there a specific type of rod that you think would be better suited for this tactic? Or what rod do you use for this?
Good question. I suggest a euro-style rod for this --10 feet or longer. This extra distance really helps when dead drifting... I use a 10' 3 wt for a lot of the water I fish.
@@anchorfly awesome thank you 🙏🙌 looking at purchasing my first euro rod
@@justinmorrall5958 That's exciting, congrats to you!!
