- I know how much I enjoyed seeing someone's 1985 footage of the Newark/Heath area, so today I thought I would record the drive all the way down 21st Street to Hebron Road, then all the way over to Irving Wick Drive in Heath. Enjoy!
Loved it. I lived there for about 30 years. Once my kids were old enough I moved away.. Thanks for this. Super smiles
Love this. Didn't know the place existed until I moved here in 2015.
Wow a lot changed. I used to live on central avenue in Newark.
Wow, I left in 79 and was last back there in 2000. This is a treat. I remember the Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips just past where Wendy's and Arby's are now. I remember the Howard Johnson's, and the Burger Chef around the corner on 30th. We lived off of 40th and Main. Great memories.
Big Bear!!!!! Omg. Is La Paloma still around?
Yep!
Lived in Newark from
1950 through 1952. Attended 1st and 2nd grade at Roosevelt school. Lived on Moull (sp?) street. Dad worked at Owens Corning until moving to Indianapolis.
I didn't see the Jesus sign guy at Deo and 21st
ODOT needs to make the lights at 21st and 16 just simple red/green lights, timed together
I haven't been anywhere near Heath since either 2004 or 2005.
Needs updated again.
What about the canal?
Thanks for uploading this - very cool
DEO pronounced [deee ohh]
0:49 - I used to live down the road on the right. Derby Downs. Used to do all my shopping at Harts Big Bear (which I still miss) and Kroger when it was on Deo. Moved out around Hebron years ago. 79 is still my turf, though (White Castle, yum!) Thanks for the ride!
Your video starts out right by my house. In fact, I lived there at the time you filmed it off of Price Rd. Would have been funny to see my own vehicle in your video.
From Mount Vernon, used to drive in this way all the time on the way to the Indian Mound Mall. Used to be a military recruitment center on Deo Drive where I joined the Air Force. Been years since I been back to this area.
I use to drive through/to there in the late 80s to visit my girlfriend from Columbus, OH. Nice video!
Hello, I'm here again, I moved to the grey house on the right @ 5:52, and @ 7:27 my family knew them, I don't remember much about them because I was around 4 or 5 years old when I went there, and John Annarino died in 2009.
