*I like that I can "fry" something on a whim! An oil fryer takes so much more time to clean and prepare **MyBest.Kitchen** a chore which usually kept me from frying all together. Also, the lack of needing oil to fry means that my family and I are eating healthier... while still enjoying the crispiness of fried foods.*
I’ve tried 4 different recipes from 4 different youtubers and this is by far the best recipes out there. It really have that distinctive taste that i remember from my childhood whenever im with my dad and we pass infront of a stall that sells popcorn chicken in Taiwan.
nice video.. i'm a bit confused when coating the chicken you kept saying sweet potato "flour" throughout the video, did you mean "starch" instead because flour and starch are different
Please careful in putting the basil leaves in the air fryer, they are so light weight that it can get sucked up in the fan and smoke up the air fryer. This recipe look yummy. You should up load more often.
I've tried a different recipe for air fryer taiwanese popcorn chicken and dont recommend putting the leaves in by themselves. They will fly around bc theyre so light, hit the coil inside the machine, and burn :( And definitely spray the chicken until you don't see the white from the sweet potato flour - it tastes pretty bad and leaves a powdery feel in your mouth when it's not cooked!
Can you replace grated ginger with ginger powder? If so, how much do I use? Thank you so much for this recipe and video! My daughter calls it "chicken on a stick" and that's exactly what it is!
"You had me at *crunch*". You just kicked me um...to the delish zone! Doncha just love air frying?! Poppy-Waving to you from southeast Georgia..... ; )
What did we do to deserve more regular uploads! Looks pretty simple. Thanks for the giveaway! My parents are in Taiwan now and actually it’s kinda chilly! They had to get some extra layers!
Vegetarian taiwanese recipes please!!! My boyfriend is a vegetarian taiwanese and I don't know how to cook for him without onion and without garlic... Thank you 🥰
I recommend using potato starch here as I haven't tried with any other substitute. If you do end up trying with something else, please let us know how it turned out.
The avocado oil is like the most inauthentic component of this recipe lol.. imagine what the old Taiwanese grandmothers at the night market would think.. Avoca.. WHAT?!
I cannot for the life of me find sweet potato flour that white in color. Always pale and tannish. You seem to be using Sweet Potato Starch Powder according to the bag in the video.

Yes you can! I haven't tried it, but maybe opt for 1/2 tsp of the ginger powder (see what the bottle says for substitutions).
Looks delicious! 👌🏻😁💕

Yikes. You're in the tough situation. Taiwanese food and vegetarian just don't mix. Good luck.
Use the popcorn recipe and replace the chicken with cauliflower
If I don't have potato starch, can I replace it with something else?
I recommend using potato starch here as I haven't tried with any other substitute. If you do end up trying with something else, please let us know how it turned out.
Do we have to use the rice wine?
It’s okay to omit the rice wine.
The avocado oil is like the most inauthentic component of this recipe lol.. imagine what the old Taiwanese grandmothers at the night market would think.. Avoca.. WHAT?!
Tried recipe. It was really dry even with extra layer of oil coating. Did 8 min in air fryer. The taste isn't quite right - a bit too sweet.
♥️
Sweet potato balls
Love those! 💕
Hi Angel do you have a recipe for them? I miss going to Taiwan with the pandemic going on. Hopefully I will be able to go this year.
