  • Voters will receive three ballot papers instead of the usual two in
this year's elections on 29 May. IEC deputy chief electoral officer
Mawethu Mosery says two ballots will be for the national assembly and
    one for the provincial legislature.

    Confusing to say the least

You need two days to get through this strange process and 28 mil voters.

This is stupid. If you vote for somebody, why not trust them enough to be national AND locally? Just have one ballot, and use that thing called "math" to figure out how many people will be in national, region, or locally. It's a waste of money, and confusing people.

Those who are well educated will not have any problems. But us who are not, we are in trouble.

Exactly are South Africans voters that sophisticated?

I am an English speaking reasonably educated person and certainly still find this confusing, most people probably don't understand the word National Compensatory Ballot as well as the blurred definitions of Regional and Provincial areas. Most friends and colleagues that I have challenged to explain the 3 ballot papers in plain English, are unable to do so or even fully understand.
