    Thank you so much. I've never played many boardgames as an adult as I have learning difficulties and usually give up trying to understand the rules.
    You make it clear to understand, you're friendly and you have a cat. The perfect combination.

    Great job! Complicated game to play. I play it on VR with my friends who live across the state. Pretty amazing.
    I sent this to one who is trying to understand the game. Much appreciated!

      @@GamesMadeEasy Awesome! Problem is that game can turn you into an asshole with your friends! I think I'm beginning to prefer cooperative based games now.

    • @GamesMadeEasy

      It can but not always. I like pandemic, shadows over Camelot, forbidden desert for cooperative games.

      @@GamesMadeEasy but in the rulebook page 4, third bullet in Turn Overview... it says You may play one development card * at any time during your turn... alao in the FAQs... there's an answer that says... you may also use dev. Card during trading... I remember this cause that is one of our strategy by using the monopoly card.

    • @GamesMadeEasy
      @GamesMadeEasy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@potatochi3f479 In terms of timing for Dev Cards, as far as I have been playing and checking several times, the only card you can play before rolling dice is the Knight. All other development cards can be played anytime after you've rolled the dice. For instance you could trade, buy stuff and then play a card. Or start by playing the card... So for Monopoly, you could trade a bunch of Wheat with other players and then play monopoly claiming all the Wheat back. Mean but effective.

      @@GamesMadeEasy I searched way back about playing any development card before rolling and it seems... all of the answer are yes, you can play development card before rolling the dice... yeah.. the trading + monopoly card is very effective way to spice up the game.
      I found a forum in the bgg about this and in the 5e version of the rulebook... you can tottaly use any dev card before rolling but as a recommendation knight is pref. Used before rolling and other dev. Cards are used after because it will greatly benefit the user that way...

      @@potatochi3f479 I have double checked and it seems you are absolutely right. All development cards can be played before the roll. Live and learn!

    Progress cards can be used before the dice roll too

    • @GamesMadeEasy
      @GamesMadeEasy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are right. Technically you can, but really it's only ever the Knight you'd want to use before rolling.

    I have a question about the when asking opponents about their resources, If I ask what resources they have, do they have to be honest with me? or can they lie about what they have?
    I ask because I saw this on the catan website
    Is it true that the number of cards in your hand is always open and available information? Specifically, should it be readily apparent how many development cards you have, but have not yet played? Or can you hide the resource cards under the table or in your pocket so that no one can see how many cards you have?
    Yes. The quantity of cards you have in your hand is public information. But the identity of those cards is not. If another player asks, for example, how may resource cards do you have, right before he moves the robber, you must tell him truthfully the number of resource cards you have in your hand. The same goes for Development or Progress cards. The number of each type of card (resource, development, etc.) that you have is public knowledge at all times. (But, not the specific cards, i.e. wood, sheep, rock…)

    • @GamesMadeEasy
      @GamesMadeEasy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, they have to tell you and show clearly how many cards they have - whether it’s resources, development cards - they don’t need to tell you what kind of resources they are or what type of development cards they are. I hope it clarifies :)
