Anything made with so much love cannot be cheap.... You are such an inspiration..... This is so beautiful... I am so bad with maths else I would ove this flight cage in my house. My Parrot would so so love this.. Only if I had little talent.
Ya see, this is just what I have been searching for. Mine will be a touch larger, for about 6-8 lovebirds, terra cotta pots for nesting holes, live plants, water feature, so excited…. I post on my page, the progress…enjoyed the vid, inspired me totally…thanks so much…
have to say it's a beautiful cage and the design looks very practical and easy to clean and maintain. please be kind enough to share the dimensions for the cage.
This would be an excellent cage for birds that don't chew extensively (like my Bourkes)! I wonder how difficult it is to clean up, or install perches/platforms/other toys. One thing I really dislike about the current cage I'm using is that it's near impossible for me to add perches in certain areas by myself. I need an extra hand just to rearrange my birds' cages... :(
For this kind of cage hes building, id wedge actual sticks in there or use those sand blasted grape vines as perches. ( could look more natural and better for birds feet too!) The wire looks too flimsy to hold the screw in perches. Maybe small ones but not for a big bird.
You just need to ensure that the wire mesh is not galvanised (has a zinc coating) because the birds could bite the cage to climb it and accidentally ingest some zinc which can be fatal.
I would love to have this for my lovebird couple. They have a cage that is plenty big because I let them out just about everyday for the entire morning so they get lots of exercise flying around the apt and being naughty. I would like to have something like this because I have been thinking about letting them have their babies. Right now I have to sneak the eggs out and replace with fake and then eventually remove those and then they are back to normal until they go through the cycle again. They are very happy and healthy birds and very much bonded. I pray nothing happens to one, it would be heartbreaking for its mate. I am retired and spend all of my time with my animals so I have been seriously considering raising some babies actually letting them raise their own and I would have the extra cage. I wish I was handy and could build something like this. I know my brother is quite good at this sort of thing so maybe I could show him the video and talk him into doing it for me and I'll supply the materials. Thanks for sharing the video.
Could you put in som measurements for the wood pieces if possible or a layout for all the supplies !! I’m very interested in creating a bigger layout for my cocktail!!
I'm a bit concerned about it to, that's why I placed corner protectors in some critical points 😅 I'm gonna use it only for particular needings so it's gonna be empty for most of the time, but I'll update in the future to show how much they ruined it!
If you put the chicken wire on the inside it’ll help stop them from chewing on the wood. But it’s much harder to do unless you make it in separate panels and attach together after the mesh in in.
In the video,he already cover them with corner protectors inside the cage to prevent the bird from chewing the wood, but i dont know what material he used
Nice but I still won't use galvanized and I definitely could not use wood. I would have to rebuild it all very quickly as one of my parakeets loves chewing wood. I have to replace the wooden ladders quite often 😅 Heidi
hi, nice video. I have a question, what measurements do I use for the cage? since I want to do it because the size is excellent for a parrot. and please can you tell me and thanks for reading my comment.😊
Entonces si limpio esa malla ,ya será segura para las ninfas?? , Gracias.quisiera saberlo y quedarme tranquilo sabiendo que hago las cosas bien..mil gracias por las respuestas..
Great design and build loved it. Thinking of building one myself for my cockatiels. Question for you, when they lay eggs, do they need calcium ? and if yes what type or kind should i provide to them. Also, if a bird has low bone density what to do for helping them out.
What did you use for the base of the cage? Really nice cage. I may give one a try if I can figure it all out, tho I'm not skilled at building anything.
does cockatiels need wider cage or taller cage? and can all mutations of cockatiels breed with each other like Normal gray with Cinnamon cockatiel? plz reply......
@@nolig888 it's very hard, I fail it too very often, some Yellow Cheek cockatiels are extremely yellow so it's easy to tell, others are more on the orange side and very similar to pastel face... I know it's yellow cheek because her father is yellow cheek 😁
Maybe they live in Australia and they survive the same way they would in the wild? Considering how close they are to this person, I doubt it. But it is really impressive.
I think it'll depend on the strength of the wood. Now bigger parrots, like a macaw or cockatoo? Most likely. But if they are that big of a parrot you'd need a bigger cage and it probably shouldn't be made of wood.
this really inspires me to try and make my own! normal cages this size are VERY expensive in my area, much more than a custom-built one like this
Don't use galvanized metals or non safe wood!
@@juliusroman8616 what are the safe woods for parrot? Poplar, pine... are they safe?
Me too! ^^
@@mertcan6280 Pine is safe as long as it's untreated and you can buy aluminium mesh online.
In my area they grow on trees.

I love your video. Your cockatiels are really happy.

The secret is in having great tools.

This is actually an awesome idea than going out and buying one.

To clarify, all my perches are the type that screw into the sides with wing nuts, that's why I have so much trouble. :(
For this kind of cage hes building, id wedge actual sticks in there or use those sand blasted grape vines as perches. ( could look more natural and better for birds feet too!) The wire looks too flimsy to hold the screw in perches. Maybe small ones but not for a big bird.
That fly moment is best....
You just need to ensure that the wire mesh is not galvanised (has a zinc coating) because the birds could bite the cage to climb it and accidentally ingest some zinc which can be fatal.
What can I use instead? Please reply
Stainless steel
Jessika Aceves and not thin mesh so they don’t cut there feet
Your birds are so cute.

Hi, I just built it around the size of the tray I already had, but I haven't any blueprint... It came out 117 x 57 x 97 cm

I have an old cockatiel and hes always had a cage the size of a big shoe box… i hope i can do this for him!!
thats actually depressing
Beautiful Work
HI TIELZONE how are you, i have i simple request can you show us all of your your cockatiel colours/mutations.
Yes plzz
Good idea
Yes please🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Very nice I'm going to make 1 this week
Great video! Thank you!
Hello there, do you have instructions of how to build this amazing cage? And thanks for making this video
No sry, just had the idea and tried it right away, marking cutting points on the wood following the dimensions of the tray I already had
I love this, but also
What prevents little parrots from chewing on the wood? Wouldn't they eventually destroy?
Give them foraging toys

You are a master builder😊 good job
Thank you. Plain on making one soon.
Me encantó cuando lo llamaste ❤❤
Thank you for making this awesome video!
awesome design and pretty simple. one question tho, is it easy to clean as you didn't install pull out system for bird poop and etc.
Measurements please
Beautiful
I wanna make something like this for my budgie but it would be a bit smaller lol
That was beautiful
Where did you get the net? Could you possibly share the link for all the things you bought?
Do you happen tío have blueprints.. this is so great..
👍👍🐦🐦🌿😂
Thank you, no I did it as a mental exercise, nothing written up, just marks on the woods in the cutting points😂
But final dimensions are 117x57x97 cm
@@TielZone thank you so much. This was by far the neatest one I've seen!

Taller rather than wide
Is this good for 2 zebra finches?
Yeah, I want to get some birds but cages are expensive. It's probably more worth the money to buy parts and make a bigger nicer cage.

Super
Wow super
Could anyone tell what the thing at 3:53 is that he is putting inside the cage? Is it to reinforce the wood? What's it called?
Not to reinforce, just to protect the wood from the birds' pecking. It's a PVC corner protector
Wow, what a beautiful vedio 😍😍
No entendí lo que riega en el suelo, es alimento y no se contamina con la kakita de los pájaros?
Do you think PVC piping might be better? I love your cage, but someone recommended the pvc instead of the wood.
Might be more durable but wood is cheaper and easier to work with... so I used wood and then covered it with these pvc edge protectors
In how much will I get this wood stick
Oh wow!!
What kind of wood and wire did you use
Where do you get and what kind of wood are you getting for both the cage and the perches and toys?
Perches and toys I use Hazel branches.
For the cage, 2x2 cm from hardware store
Not bad for someone learning to use tools
What is the bottom made of

Where did you source the tray?
