Mechanical Monday: Mobile data terminal

On this episode of Mechanical Monday, ‘mobile data terminal.’ An MDT is a computer used by firefighters in the fire truck. The device receives it’s data from the Emergency Communications Center, which provides centralized dispatch services to all fire and EMS agencies in Johnson County (KS). The MDT displays information about incidents (nature of the call, location, responding units, call notes, etc.); gives routing directions; shows the locations of fire hydrants; and, more!
