Just received my second Lectric. First was the standard XP, the second one is the XP Lectric Step Thru for my girlfriend. Ordered back in early June, just got it on Sept 11,2020. Road it already. Little easier to get on than my standard XP but both are nice to ride. Already installed accessories on them .
I have been studying the electric bike for the last two years I think it’s the most incredible value on the market and I’m getting ready to pull the trigger to buy two of them. Definitely Thomyt approved

We bought 2 XP's after watching several youtube videos, (yours included). We have been very happy with them since they have arrived. Thanks for the step-thru video, now I may end up with another one.... Hope you liked Charleston, our hometown.
Hi Ron! We're gladd you're enjoying the bikes. Charleston is one of our favorite places for sure. We were just talking about making our way there again soon. Perhaps springtime next year. Be sure to check out our upcoming review on a new smart helmet!
I have ordered the Step Thru model because where I live it rains a lot and I need a Veltop Windshield with Canvas cover overhead for riding (ordered online from France). I also need a pannier on the back to keep rain off the motor and wear leg gaiters so my legs don't get soaked from wet road spray when riding. A Step Thru makes it a lot easier to get on and off the bike with my Veltop attachment and the canvas cover attaches behind the rear seat. Their (Veltop) new model for upright bikes doesn't attach to the rear seat anymore and I think that they finally solved the issues with the windshield flopping forwards and back. I solved the Veltop Classic 2+ windshield stability problem by replacing the fiberglass carbon rods that went into the canvas cover by using two stainless steel CB whip antennas cut to the same length and also used some bicycle umbrella holders too. This solved the problem. It also made a nice deflopilator so that the bikes front wheel wouldn't turn unexpectedly when parked. I am also going to order another one for good weather riding and get some extra battery packs for more distant riding
Your review is so in depth!! Thank you for that! We ordered two XP bikes mainly because the step through is on an 8 week backlog. We are hoping these come before our big trip in a couple of months. I’m 5’4” so was a little concerned about the pedal height but from what you say and the video shows, they look comparable on pedal height. I like riding with my legs extended so I’m used to jumping off the seat to stop but maybe that isn’t even necessary. We also ordered the Sena R1 helmets - those are awesome!!
Just ordered my Step Thru with the Black Friday promo. I'm an RVer in a Roadtrek and look forward to having a little mobility without having to move the van.
Thanks for sharing Dawn. If you watch our other videos where we talk about the Panniers, you will understand why we upgraded and recommend getting ones that can be easily removed on the fly. The Panniers that come with the bike are adequate, but they lend themselves to being easily stolen. We would recommend not storing things of value in them. Especially if you leave the bike unattended for any length of time. The Panniers we upgraded to can be quickly detached and used as a shoulder bag when shopping or sightseeing.
One thing that should be mentioned is that the pedals of the step-through are not as high off the ground as the other unit. There is a difference of about 2 inches, which can be crucial for shorter folks, such as women, and some men too.
My plan is to add a mid drive Bafang when the hub motor dies... Step-over model is made for it! Step-thru model, not so much. And I opted for the G-Force T42 copy of the Lectric step-over which has : 750/1100 motor, 20A controller, bigger battery, tires, forks and top speed. Also 4 pounds heavier...
Thanks for the video. You mentioned there is a difference between the Standard and the Step-Thru. The Step-Thru pedals are lower and slightly back. Does this affect the handling and ride of the bike? You also said the seat can be moved back, but would that affect the reach to the handlebars? In your opinion, is which of the two is the better and safer ride?
I ordered 2 back in June. My regular XP arrived in mid July but the Step Thru is still out a few weeks. It's mid August now. Hopefully it arrives before the Labor Day Trip.
Hi you two! Great review! I just ordered my step-through today! I was struggling because I wanted something immediately, but Lectric has a 6 week wait. But I chose to be patient! Can't wait for it to arrive. Hope they are still working for you.
If you're starting from the beginning for the first time regarding your bike what should you do to test you and practice if it's your first time riding the bike
Great question! Make sure to check all the nuts and bolts to make sure they are tight. Take it slow and use level 1 pedal assist until you get use to how the bike works.
I am supposed to get my step thru delivered today yay 🙌 it was supposed to be here at the end of August but I figured they had so many pre-orders to handle the demand . I need to get a nice helmet like the one in the video . I'm so ready to get riding i cant wait !!
Update , received my step thru bike ,everyone "loves" it. I looked it over it was perfect , I'm a welder and mine is welded perfectly. My only problem was when I needed to charge the battery 🔋 and unfolded it i noticed my front headlamp put a tiny dent in front fender bummer it was perfect 👌 o well just be careful when removing and replacing batteries 😀 , I love 💘 my step thru . Its awesome 👌
You guys are great! Waiting on our 2 white step throughs.... They appear to be exactly what we want, +50 crowd n'at... have driven competitor bike... excited to see the difference
Thank you Lawrence. Please let us know how you like the bikes. If you haven’t settled on a helmet yet you might want to check out the Sena brand in our Amazon store. We love ours!
Waiting for mine to show up! We have two of the original which are wonderful except I have a problem getting on and off. I do it but it is a sight to behold! I'm 72 yers old, bad back and hips, and overweight. I'm creating quite a picture here! We rode them around Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains last month and are planning a trip to Assategeo National Park in September. Hopefully it gets here in time. Thanks for you comments and review.
@@LyfUninterrupted That's exactly what I met. I am hoping that by the time we get there I can pronounce it as well as spell it! It's not that hard when I hear other people say it but I can't seem to get my tongue around it! Thanks for clarifying.
I am 5’3”. I had an accident on my bike too March 23, 2020. I ruptured my Achilles’ tendon. I haven’t been released from the Dr yet. I really wish I had a step through frame also or better yet a lectric trike.
I pre-ordered it on June 25th for August delivery. They were delayed about two weeks. I just received an email that they started shipping September 1st and it would take approximately 10 days to ship all their pre-ordered step-thru’s.
I really wanted the step thru but the wait fornit to be shipped was 6 to 8 weeks so I just went with the original version and I love it! I'm from California just curious to whyvmy total came out to $970 is that normal or or was it 899 flat for you guys? Mine also came with the bag you guys have on here for the back of the bike
Great review - just ordered two last night (white for wifey/black for me)🙈Really like the initial walk thru / safety review of checking to make sure everything is operational as needed, and ESPECIALLY appreciate links to some cool accessories. Subscribing to your channel (my 1st look) - sounds like you guys have been in RV lifestyle for quite a while. We had RVs from 1999 -2007 and getting back into (along with partial retirement) and ordered a class B that should be in sometime in late Spring/Summer so what to get use to ebikes prior to longer trips👍. If you have any ideas on possible class two hitches, or possibility of folding/storing inside RV please advise. Thanks - B. Safe
Hello David. I assume you are referring to a bike rack? If so, I’ve done quite a bit of research on racks that are suitable for holding two XPs. The only one I’ve found is the Swagman eSpec dual rack. The weight rating is 70 pounds per bike, so it should be a good one. It folds up and out of the way too. Hope this helps.
Im looking at getting another smaller ebike and have been researching the lectric and the rad runner/mini. I just don't think the Lectric is going to work for me, I can't seem to get over 2 things on it. Key needs to be left in as you ride and the fact that you need to fold the bike in order to remove the battery. I just cant get past those 2 things. Besides that I currently have a rad rover so getting another rad Im thinking would benefit me a bit more with not having to go through a different company for service or parts, plus same chargers is a big deal to me.. Thanks for the great video again you guys.
We were about to pull the trigger on some ebikes through Walmart and then I watched this review. Thanks for covering it so well. We purchased 2 of them last night. Luckily it’s winter in Wisconsin because it will be 4 to 8 weeks before they arrive. We’re excited to try them out this spring. Question, what brand of trailer did you purchase to pull your dogs along? Are most models compatible with the Lectric bikes? Thanks again for the great review. We’re stoked!
Hi Jason! Congrats on buying the Lectric XPs. You’ll love them. We have the Schwinn Rascal pet trailer. It works well with our XPs. Not sure about other brands.
HI Jay! The website is www.lectricebikes.com. You will have to check with lectric to be sure, but we think they do ship to Canada. Thanks for watching.

Hi. I am trying to find your Amazon reference to the water bottle holder you show. I have the Lectric XP and am awaiting delivery of the step thru. Would like to get the holder. Thanks.
Hi Wendy! We actually bought the holder from Walmart, not Amazon. Here's the link: www.walmart.com/ip/Zefal-Pulse-Expandable-Water-Bottle-Bike-Cage-Universal-Mounting/410582901. Hope this helps.
My 2.0 xp will ship on the 5th of July. Been waiting since April. It will be epic. This model is dialed in. I own other ebkes. Any bike is a good bike. Get out & ride. Wear a helmet.
Hi thank you for your video, I'm interested in the bike I just wanted to know is the bike like it's 22/28 mph until the end of its battery or the more the battery drains the faster the bike will roll?and at maximum speed how long the battery lasts?
Hi Charles. The battery discharge profile is very linear, but I do notice a decrease in performance once the battery charge state gets down to around 50 percent. We've never tested the battery endurance under top speeds, but the manual states a rough range estimate of 25 miles when using pure throttle. Top speed using pure throttle is limited to 20 mph. Range/performance will of course vary wildly given the terrain, rider weight and payload.
Hi Doug! Sorry, Lectric doesn't provide discount codes. $899 is still a terrific deal for these bikes. Having owned ours step over versions for over a year now, and we can tell you that there are little things that need attention and maintenance, but that goes for all bikes.
We ordered 2 and are arriving today and tomorrow. FYI - Your fault as we watched your video on the original version LOL. Oh, and the Sena helmets as well. I like the idea we can chat if need be. Now that I see the step thru, it might have been best to get that one as I'm a bit short at 5 5. BUT its always nice to have a third one for guests. Have fun!
@@LyfUninterrupted We love our bikes! The first thing to go was the seat, purchased the Bikeroo. Thanks for the suggestion as I went through 3 until we got this one. Big thanks to Amazon on their return policy. Being in the senior class we need more room for our... behinds. Lol. Then the cell phone holder and a bike basket for our schnauzer Sophie.
If I take this camping and am not near an electrical outlet, can this also be charged on, say, a Jackery portable battery? Also, it looks pretty big, would it fit into the trunk of a Honda Civic sedan? Thanks so much for any inut!
Hi Rose. If the Jackery is fully charged and has a 110 outlet, then most likely it will charge the bike battery, though perhaps not fully. Sorry, but we have no idea if this bike would fit into a Honda Civic. Visit the Lectric website fir folded dimensions of the bike then measure your vehicle. Hope this helps.
We had a lot of folding bikes in family and neighbourhood.. that was a lot of time ago, but main problem was folding mechanism, long term... they needed to be welded after some time.. which for me is ok, still usable bike, I wouldn’t fold it anyway.. but for some it might be a problem.. and you also can’t change battery:)
After a week or so of research, watching and reading reviews about dozens of e-bikes I finally made the decision and purchase today. I got a white one but I wanted a black one. The black ones were out of stock and only pre-order for September. Since I want what I want and I want it now I settled for the white one. 😂 I was wondering how long does it take after your order to actually receive your bike? I can hardly hold back the excitement. I feel like a little kid.
Great question, but we have no idea given all the particulars of your order. We got the test and evaluation unit within a day or so, but we are just across town from the company's warehouse here in the Phoenix area. Our guess is that you'll have it within a couple of weeks as long as it's in stock.
Mine is 14 on pas 2 and gear 6... I like it like that. Wanted to get those lights, (red white and blue), for the wheels, but they say it takes 20 mph to get the full effect.
Thank you both for a great review...Showing this video to my wife tonight...looks like a great bike at a great price point... One question; Where or how do you carry your bikes on or in your coach? Do you have a rack attached to your coach? We have a Thor ACE 30.2, we call her "Yuki" and do not tow any vehicle.so we are anxious in getting E-Bikes. Thanks in advance for your response. Richard, Karen & Rocky (our cat)
Hi guys! We fold up the bikes and put them in our Jeep. One goes I. The charge area and the other goes in the back seat. That way they are protected from theft and the elements. Thanks for watching!
Great video! How many pounds do they weigh? Any differences in the weight between the step through and the regular bike? Last but not least where do you get the cushy seat? THANKS SAFE TRAVELS
Hi Ron. Didn't anyone ever tell you that you shouldn't ask a girl her age or weight? LOL...just kidding. I weigh about 240 and the bike hauls me around with no problem. Both bikes are nearly identical in weight. Check out our Amazon store for the seat and for some other cool gear. www.amazon.com/shop/lyfuninterrupted
Another great review on these bikes. Am I correct in concluding that you Brian prefer the original frame and you Shaunna prefer the new stepthru frame? I got a black original model last September. I am 5 11 but as you mentioned, as one gets older flexibility is not what it used to be. I just tilt the bike toward me (some days more than others) and it is not a problem getting my leg over the top tube. One of the comments mentioned the step thru model has a lower center of gravity. Did either of you notice that it was more stable? I like the new headlight. Mine flickers off and on. Robbie told me at the Big Tent Show to bring it by and they will fix it. I home base out of the Phoenix Valley. I will have to ask about upgrading to the new light. My biggest complaint is the difficulty in removing and installing the rear tire. To reduce the chance of a flat, I installed tire liners and the green slime sealant. Overall they are a lot of fun to ride and seem to be a good value compared to other brands. I appreciate you keeping us updated on the bikes.
We mainly use a very large, thick cable with integrated lock. People ask us about it all the time, but it’s no longer on the market from what we can tell. It would take someone quite a while to cut through it. This said, we always park the bikes in busy public areas.
Lyf Uninterrupted Thanks! We’ve been eyeing these and the Rad fold up bikes for a while now. Seems more people are going with these and you can’t beat the price point! (The step through is my personal favorite ) We so appreciate the detailed review. 👍
Hi Corey. The seat that comes with the bike is OK, but we upgraded to a much larger and more comfortable seat. Check out that seat and more eBike accessories in our Amazon Store. www.amazon.com/shop/lyfuninterrupted.
Hi Ken. We stow them in our Jeep when traveling. One goes in the rear cargo area and the other in the back seat. Tried to put them both in the cargo area but just couldn’t get them secure enough. We’ve been thinking about getting a bike rack, but that’s just one more piece of equipment that we’d have to deal with, not to mention the constant concern of theft. At least they are kept secure and out of the weather in the Jeep.
@@LyfUninterrupted thanks Brian! We don't have a Toad yet, so we'll need to get some sort of hitch mounted rack big enough for two of these babies! Have a great Super Bowl watch, take care!
Hi Bob! No, they do not. Here is a link to our Amazon Store where we have a couple of well-reviewed bike alarms. www.amazon.com/shop/lyfuninterrupted?listId=19FYFGX6U3LFF&ref=cm_sw_em_r_inf_list_own_lyfuninterrupted_dp_pssFtUotA5ULx
Great informational video, however, I just purchased the step through, and am truly loving the ride of the bike, BUT, my charger won’t work without taking the battery out because the hole drilled in the frame is a little off center for the charging port to connect. This also makes it very difficult to turn the locking mechanism with the keys. The steel pin doesn’t line up with the predrilled hole. After several emails, I was told, not much Lectric XP can do besides asking me to just take the battery out each time... To say the least, I’m disappointed at this point. There has to be a fix for this issue without folding the bike in half, while trying to balance it, and not dropping the battery or the bike. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated! Happy riding!
Hi Joyce. Sorry to hear about the issue with your bike. Since the frame is aluminum alloy it should be fairly easy to elongate the hole in the direction needed so that the charger plug and lock function as intended. Also, you could just as easily use a slightly large drill bit to make the entire hole larger. You could also use a round metal file to elongate the hole, which might be the best approach. I agree that this should have been caught at inspection prior to shipping. Be sure to remove the battery before modifying the hole!! Hope this helps.

@@LyfUninterrupted thank you so much . I just purchased one and waiting a few weeks for arrival.. I should do a review . It would be interesting to show how it goes while riding in NYC
Hey guys im very interested in buying an XP . Do I have use any tools or just unpack it like on your video. How heavy is it , my apt is on the 2nd floor and im a 55 yr young man with an injured right knee I sustained from Iraq 8 yrs ago, which is one of the main reasons im buying this bike to enjoy riding again with alittle help from pas
Hi Kenneth. The bike comes fully assembled. All you do is unpack it, charge the battery and go. As for your ability to carry it up stairs, we would recommend you speak you your Doctor before trying to do so. Thanks for watching!
Hi Bob. I (Brian) am 6’2 with 34” inseam and the bike fits me fine. The max carrying capacity of the bike is 330 lbs, so you should be OK there as well. Hope this helps!
whats the chance the company relocates the key ignition from the bottom which i find horrible ! also the tires look suited for off trail riding vs city or pavement riding.
@@LyfUninterrupted going to probably buy one as the price is right or if I wait for new model it may be few months and I'm sure if they change the key location this bike will be 200-300 more dollars
Hey great video I do have a question where do you store the bike in under storage or inside your Jeep? I do believe they weigh around 30 lbs right? Thanks
We put one bike in the cargo area and the other in the rear seat. They weigh about 65 lbs with the battery installed and about 55lbs if you remove it. Thanks for watching!
When you fold the bike can you tell me how wide it is from the folded down handle bar to the pedal on the other side? I want to see if I can fit 2 side by side in the back of my SUV.
Hey, thanks for the review. I watched your original xp review a while back then ordered the xp. Can you tell me what type of bottle holder you have on the bike? I didn't see it in your store and I want to get one that will be secure on the stem. Thanks,
Hi Karen. This particular holder is not available on Amazon. We actually bought it from Walmart of all places. Here's the link: www.walmart.com/ip/Zefal-Pulse-Expandable-Water-Bottle-Bike-Cage-Universal-Mounting/410582901
The pedals looked like they were too close to the ground. I'm worried that if you take a tight turn, one of the pedals will make contact with the ground.
Hi Robert. We haven't experienced any instances where the pedals make contact with the ground. If this is a concern, then you might want to put the pedals in a horizontal position (parallel to the ground) when making sharp turns. Thanks for watching!
Can’t believe that you guys got a Step-Thru delivered to you already. I ordered an original XP back early in July and still waiting. All I got was an email saying that they got the bikes in early and they be shipping out early. That was July 23rd. Im over the anticipation and truly disappointment. My training starts on the 24th so I won’t be riding this summer. Happy you guys actually get a chance to enjoy the summer.
Actually, we requested the bike from Lectric back in January and just received it two weeks ago. Hopefully you get yours sooner than 7 months. 🤞Thanks for watching.
Lyf Uninterrupted Wow 7 months, are you serious. I’m gonna go ahead and cancel the order. They say I get a full refund if the bike hasn’t been shipped yet. I’ll try e-biking next summer. Thanks for the information LyF. I can’t wait 7 months like you guys.
Howie Get-Cash They say on the website that the ones ordered now, will ship sometime in September. We bought the regular XPs but I hope I don’t regret not buying the step thru.
Hi Saul. There are 5 pedal assist modes or you can use just throttle. Speed is limited to 20 MPH when using just throttle Check out our first two videos on the lectric XP's for a but more in-depth info.
Top speed with throttle only is 20 MPH. Top speed in pedal assist mode 5 is 28 MPH if the bike is configured for class 3 operation. Mileage will vary with how the bike is operated, but 25-50 miles on a charge is typical.
Hi Steven. The combination adding a suspension seat post and lowering the tire pressure about 5 psi make a big difference in comfort. Thanks for watching!
Hi Brian! We spoke with Lectric back in January about getting one. We were happy to wait for paid orders to start being fulfilled before having one sent to us for a review.

Its awesome 👌
Good to hear!
Really like the bikes, looks like a great way to find new fishing spots.

Nice video guys. We are still on the fence about buying ebikes. I usually only want one on those rides where it seems that it is up hill both ways. :)
LOL! Thanks George!
Nice! Do you mean Assateague National Seashore off the coast of Maryland/Virginia? We were there last September as well. A beautiful. peaceful place.
@@LyfUninterrupted That's exactly what I met. I am hoping that by the time we get there I can pronounce it as well as spell it! It's not that hard when I hear other people say it but I can't seem to get my tongue around it! Thanks for clarifying.
No worries. Have fun!
The step thru is so nice I love 💘 it
I am 5’3”. I had an accident on my bike too March 23, 2020. I ruptured my Achilles’ tendon. I haven’t been released from the Dr yet. I really wish I had a step through frame also or better yet a lectric trike.
Yikes! Keeping our fingers crossed for you!🤞

Just be careful with speed and when stopping. You should be just fine.
My step-thru should arrive within the next two weeks. I’m so excited 😃

@@jasonelsapeck865 Dang when did you first order it I wanna order one to Im really just hoping it doesn't take to long haha
I pre-ordered it on June 25th for August delivery. They were delayed about two weeks. I just received an email that they started shipping September 1st and it would take approximately 10 days to ship all their pre-ordered step-thru’s.
Great info.........thanks guys, any problems with flat tires? do you recommend and punture proof liners etc.
Hi Stan. We’ve had one flat since getting them, but haven’t had another since putting slime in each tube. Thanks for watching!
Great review! Considering one of these bikes. I’m only 5’2” so a step through is a must.
Thanks for watching!
Me too 😅
I really want one of these but my parents don’t think it’s a good purchase. Are these ebikes good for bike trails with a couple of little hills?
They really aren’t designed for heavy trail use like mountain bikes are. We have ridden then on dirt and gravel trails or paths with no problems.
Hmmm...not sure why the higher amount. Taxes?
Thanks Gavin!
I thought, I was missing the wrench with the bike but it's an extra I guess ? Once it is up and running and the smoke is clear I'll pick one up!

Good video. Informative. Interesting camera angles.
Thanks Kevin!
Do you have a discount code? I'm in! I never purches the first gen of anything. So now it time. :)
Have fun!
Hi Rich! Great news on your bikes. Let us know what you think about them.

@@LyfUninterrupted Hi - thanks very much for responding! Have a blessed day and thanks again for the video.

Thanks for watching!
What kind of range did you guys get on these when you were driving the sandy beaches at South Padre?
We only rode on hard packed sand, so probably close to the same range as on normal roads.

@@LyfUninterrupted I live in Western KY. They said it would ship in 3-5 business days so maybe it won't be too long. I just can't wait....
@@artifexpro-000 did you receive yours
What is your average speed when riding around? I was wondering if 20mph is enough or around 25-28mph feels better or enjoyable.
Our average speed is probably 15 mph. We seldom go faster unless we are on a long stretch of open road.
Does the tool, you used...to check the nuts and bolts during the unboxing....come with the bike???
Hi Johnny! It came with our original bikes but not the new one.

Sorry Randy. The company isn't shipping to HI yet. Perhaps you could contact them to make arrangements. Would probably be on your dime though.
I'm gettin a Lectric bike for sure
Nice! You’ll love it!
Where do you take the bike when you have to service it
Hi Kenneth. We do all the service ourselves, but you could call a local bike shop to see if they might service them.
Hi Bruce! 👍. My wife says she can tell the difference in stability. Others have reported that as well.
@@LyfUninterrupted Thanks for the followup. I have a friend looking to buy one. I wil pass along the information.

wonderful review just order one where can I find the drink holder
👍 We found ours at Walmart.
What do you guys use for a bike lock for when you’re in stores or just parked somewhere?
We mainly use a very large, thick cable with integrated lock. People ask us about it all the time, but it’s no longer on the market from what we can tell. It would take someone quite a while to cut through it. This said, we always park the bikes in busy public areas.
Lyf Uninterrupted Thanks! We’ve been eyeing these and the Rad fold up bikes for a while now. Seems more people are going with these and you can’t beat the price point! (The step through is my personal favorite ) We so appreciate the detailed review. 👍

Are the seats 💺 comfortable? Thank you.
Hi Corey. The seat that comes with the bike is OK, but we upgraded to a much larger and more comfortable seat. Check out that seat and more eBike accessories in our Amazon Store. www.amazon.com/shop/lyfuninterrupted.
Hey guys...where do you stow the bikes...in / on the Toad?

We bought the last helmets and bikes based on your recommendations.
Awesome! Let us know what you think about them!
Do these bikes have any type of security to prevent theft
What type of phone holder is that? Did you purchase and extender?
Hi Tristan. Here is the link to the phone holder in our Amazon store. We also installed an extender.

what would you recommend for a 6ft guy?
Brian is 6'2 and the step-over model works well for him.
How are the bumps with no front shocks?
We run the tires at 25 psi. This helps cushion the bumps while still providing enough tire inflation for typical riding. Thanks for watching!
