  • The ferry cruise on the world’s most famous fjord - Geirangerfjord. The fjord offers a fairytale landscape, encircled by high mountains, where abandoned farms cling to the hillsides. The trip between Geiranger and Hellesylt takes in the Seven Sisters and Bridal Veil waterfalls.
The #Geirangerfjord is a 15-kilometer-long branch of Storfjord and has been inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List. The cruise takes approx. one hour one way. The tour is guided in several languages. Cars and coaches can travel on the tourist car ferries, but capacity is limited, and we advise booking the vehicle space in advance.
In the summertime, thousands of tourists travel through or stay in Hellesylt each day. Most of them take the ferry «Veøy» to the nearby village of Geiranger, which in high season runs every one and a half hours from Geiranger or Hellesylt.
#Geiranger is a small town in the Sunnmøre district of Møre og Romsdal county in the western part of #Norway. This town is surrounded by majestic mountains, foaming waterfalls, and lush nature. This is why Geiranger is a preferred place for Instagram enthusiasts.
#Hellesylt is a small village in Stranda Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The village lies at the head of the Sunnylvsfjorden, which is a branch of the Storfjorden, and which the more famous Geirangerfjorden in turn branches off nearby.
The village is surrounded by mountains and valleys. The Sunnylven Church is located in Hellesylt, which was the administrative center of the former municipality of Sunnylven
Geiranger and Hellesylt are under constant threat from landslides from the mountain Åkerneset into the fjord. A collapse can cause a tsunami that could destroy most of downtown. For safety reasons, sirens have been installed to warn residents and visitors if a landslide should occur.

Really nice video! Would you mind sharing a website where this trip with the ferry can be booked? I tried to look it up but I found multiple options with different prices and I am not sure which one would be correct. Thank you!

Hello Andreea! Very good question and once we tried to answer we found that it is easier to wrap into an article as it includes a lot of links.
Here is what we think you need to know - timetables, prices, and addresses you might need for booking.
Let us know if something missing you wish to know. 🙂
