Albert wouldn’t have been afraid of any of them, but Foreman had a well established reputation of taking it to ultimate level. Albert will have known that. What’s significant here is that they showed Albert the respect he deserved by visiting him and advising him of what he should do. Most people would have just been hospitalised or killed. Albert was fearless, brave and not afraid of anyone, but he wasn’t at that level that Pyle & Foreman were at. Pyle was inside with Jimmy Nash in 1961 for murder - and they both looked like they would be hanged. But they had very powerful friends on the outside who intimidated all of the witnesses and nobbled the jury. Albert was never at that level.

So Shaw and Pyle got pissed and thought they could put it on Albert? But ended up running to Fred for some help?
Then the 4 bully boys stuck it on him.......4 tough men who didn't fancy Albert on a 1 to 1.
If this is a true story then Roy and Joe go down a peg in my esteem.

I remember this story it went down exactly as Ray said, except the last bit Albert took the number that evening instead of ringing Joe. Albert rang Len and told him the Koo.
As Joe and Lenny went back a long way, Lenny called Mr Pyle and insisted that Albert was extreamy sorry for the incident in his pub, he got very defensive as it was his pub, he apologies for any offence caused. Joe said about that other thing, Len said don't worry Joe I have it sorted I'd never let you down ❤.
As an exiting comment Len said to Joe " I'd appreciate if that was the end of it . A few months later Roy came back to Alberts pub on his own and had a good drink with Albert , and became good friends .
That's what it means to be the Guv'nor Ray ❤ thanks for reading

You've got to think, they were up and coming New School, Old School where more "Let's sort this out, put a lid on it, we're all just trying to make a pound note", a lot of GENTS in the old school MOSTLY all could have a fight, would bring it to your face for a fight on the cobbles, The New School where totally the opposite, they didn't come toe to toe, they didn't need to be able to fight ,as The Game was changing, so were the players, Old School MOSTLY, had to roll over and move on, they were becoming FOOD to the HUNGRY New School, who would kidnap your kids and shoot your bird in the leg, they wouldn't do it themselves they'd send 17yr old kids, so you are quite right and as you know with old stories, how it looked and sounded to one person could be totally different to the next, and both could be wrong.

Anyone remember the issue between Freddie and Eddie Richardson that goes back decades? Fred claims to have put a gun up Eddie Richardson's nose for taking a liberty with a friend of his. There were words exchanged between the two (both pensioners by then) at a funeral of one of the train robber's. Who do you believe? One say's it happened and the other say's it never. Both very staunch men with big reputations, but they can't both be right!

Foreman was the first one to leave the chapel and did not go to the wake. Eddie was one of the last to leave the chapel & the wake.
