    For all the newbies like me who had installed Flutter but had no idea how to open their first Flutter project xD, here's how it goes assuming you use Visual Studio: Launch Visual Studio Code and open the command palette (with F1 or Ctrl+Shift+P or Shift+Cmd+P ). Start typing "flutter new". Select the Flutter: New Project command. Next, select Application and then a folder in which to create your project.

    TRULY APPRECIATE THAT YOU SPENT THE FIRST HOUR JUST SHOWING HOW THE UI PIECES FIT TOGETHER before dropping in to the details of coding. Nobody else bothers to give big picture stuff, so most people tell you what to type, but without understanding why, which they can't seem to conceptualize is important, the what is almost wasted for learning. 1:41:22 for anyone having problems at this part with their slidable not working in the present time, you have to increase the "flutter_slidable" version to the latest one as the other dependencies have also been upgraded. for example "flutter_slidable ^3.1.0" instead of the 1.2.0 he used. @createdbykoko I really want to like this video but you're just dropping syntax and I lost you very quickly. At least tell us why you're doing what you're doing and the motivation behind it.
    So many other Flutter tutorials do the same - they just drop syntax, but they don't give the motivation behind it.

    • @createdbykoko

      @@AngryWolf-sq5wx hello! I’m sorry if I lost you along the way! I can try to help you individually here. With all my tutorials I try to find the right speed for everyone, but since everyone is different, it may be too fast or too slow depending on the person. If you look at most comments on this video, they find this to be a good pace but I value your feedback so I will take that into consideration for next time ☺️ we just need to find where your understanding is up to.
      Is there a particular question you have that I can help you understand? At what point in the video did I lose you?
      Learning how to code at the beginning can feel like people are “just dropping syntax”. Which syntax did you need help with? Google is also your friend. This is the life of a coder. You will be constantly learning new things.
      I recommend starting really small and firstly make sure you understand the programming basics. If you understand that, then move on to the flutter widgets etc. by the way, you will never really learn just by watching, you have to spend time coding yourself, then many things will click into place. Start small with a simple to do app and go up from there.
      I hope this helps ❤️

    This course is genuinely good like for reals. Almost every other tutorial out there jump right into making a project assuming "well that's the best way to teach someone flutter, by making projects" meanwhile I just copied whatever code they provided and couldn't understand anything (I tried going through line-by-line, but whenever it was my turn to code I just couldn't figure out anything). Its genuinely a terrible way to teach someone a platform cause there will be so many special functions and edge cases that you won't even understand unless you go through a gradual process.

    This is the best flutter course I have seen so far. The channel entirely is awesome, but I have one issue with the bottom navigation Bar. I followed everything as you did and even went on to check in another channel but it keeps returning an error when I save it and the simulator crashes afterwards. what could be the issue? This is is error message: 'package:flutter/src/material/bottom_naviagtion_bar.dart': Failed assertion: line 246 pos 15: 'items.length >= 2': is not true. But I don't have up to line 246, I have just about 24.

    This is a fantastic tutorial. I did a computer science degree 20 years ago and have not programmed since as I went immediately into teaching and now homeschool my kids. This is such a great introduction back into coding…so well taught! We are working on a homeschool app project and have chosen Flutter so hopefully will have it complete by the end of the year and your course will have certainly been a great help!

    Is it a problem that Im on windows and can't emulate IOS? I wasn't sure how important it is to have the capability to be able to simulate both. I suppose I could just run a MacOS VM and do it through there when needed. I wasn't sure if this was important for finding any bugs or if it can all be done through an android emulator.

    • @createdbykoko
      @createdbykoko  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Heyyy, yeah that is a common question. You can definitely just use windows with android. But you will want to test it on iOS maybe at the end of your production just to make sure. There could be small minor differences

      aftrer getting through this video I want to add that you should really consider creating a course. If you took this same contents of this video and just slowed down some portions so its easier for complete beginners to follow along it would be fantastic for people like me who have no experience minus HTML. Even despite this video being a bit fast you are a great teacher and verbally explain things well. This would be a course Id even be fine paying for. You are honestly the only person I have found on youtube that I can actually follow and explains things clearly! @@createdbykoko

      for IOS you need Mac, otherwise you cant able to do this. and in VM macOS is not possible because of licensing. and now every mac became M-Series processor. it architect is completely different from intel based Mac. But dont worry, everything is almost same and works fine on both

    1:32:30 The buttons don't color to the color is in the main.dart which is yellow (primarySwatch).
    I have basic color of purple. How to solve this?

    • @DewidBielecki
      @DewidBielecki 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Okay I just made it by my self and set the color yellow like this:
      color: Colors.yellow[200],
      So the full code must look like this:
      import 'package:flutter/material.dart';
      class MyButton extends StatelessWidget {
      final String text; //we need to know the buttons name
      VoidCallback onPressed; //its a gesture detector, it return nothing
      MyButton({super.key, required this.text, required this.onPressed});
      @override
      Widget build(BuildContext context) {
      return MaterialButton(
      onPressed: onPressed,
      color: Colors.yellow[200],
      child: Text(text),
      );
      }
      }

    Hey @Mitch, I am a big fan of your work and love your style. I have even bought some of your things.
    I just wanted to say that I do disagree with something you said here in the beginning. This video can replace a boot camp or an online course on mobile dev but not computer science. As a lifelong computer science person, I know that CompSci is so many things such as computer architecture, formal logic, compiler construction, operating systems, and programming among many others.
    Programming/coding happens to be very useful for the industry hence it has become lucrative.
    Love your work! thanks again :)

    Thank you for the wonderful tutorial. Concerning the e-commerce app intro I would have liked to know how to make the app open and read a CSV file /spreadsheet with the list of all the products and the paths to the products' images and then build the tiles with infos taken from that CSV file instead of manually adding each product within the code. Thank you again!
