Well done, well done indeed, a very fine and accurate representation of the generous, kind-hearted and wonderful people in charge of our fair country who take their time from their incredibly busy schedules of running the said country, in order to sign my paycheck every single month, to us the hard-working, battle-hardened warrior veteran members of the Purple Dragon Army still in active service, who patrol the borders and keep the lands safe from all nr. of nasties while having to endure a whole bunch of dangers, then we must also return a certain amount of said money back to them!
Should have remained a mercenary, BUT NOOOOOO, I had to follow my dumb ass cousin's advice, and where is he now, oh yeah in the belly of a hydra!
But then again no one ever really thinks twice as to why bandit bodies looked like they were drained to the bone of blood before they were dismembered, or impaled!

Are you saying that the Nobility system of Cormyr is flawed? What do you suggest we replace it with? The Barbarian Nobility system they use in Waterdeep, where houses need to prove their value to the city to retain their nobility? - Insanity.

@@ForgottenRealmsHistory I not saying that just that I would like a heads up a day in advance each and every single time, some noble ends up, having a happy time, with someone, willing or not and I have to resolve the matter, be it with diplomacy or alternative methods when people are less the wise to listen to reason, well I'm well know champion of the people and practically own several orphanages and workhouses for the downtrodden, so win-win for me.
Oh, and let us not forget having my favorite part of my sworn duty, to clean up after someone decides to get drunk and set some stables on fire! DO SOME OF THEm EVEN KNOW HOW MUCH EFFORT IS PUT IN THE RAISING A SINGLE A PUREBLOOD WARHORSE OR DRAFT HORSE!
But in my defence when junior screws up big time papa will look the other way, but if papa, mama, uncle and whole family members screw up, the king then just nods and well,.......dinner for me!
I mean I want to make love to with my wife, so for the next hours while we are getting it on near the finishing line, I would like not to have to answer the knock on my door, to have to travel, find a person, "fix" the problem, arrive home and she is not in the mood or is sleeping, that is not a healthy marriage in any way possible!

Cormyr isn't a bad place. If you're willing to pay for the stupid license you have to get if you wish to adventure within their borders. A much better place than Amn in my opinion, I'm not a fan of getting a large fine, jailed or even put to death for casting arcane magic.

Played this setting 20 some years ago when AD&D started to drift into 3.5e
The " Steel Regent " was still a battle front warlord, her siblings were out doing their own thing and the two of them refuse to visit the Queen Mother cause they were afraid Mother would
Abdicate the Throne to one of them.
The Queen Mother was in minor constant fear that one of her dead husband the King's bastard children would show up to claim the Throne for themselves.
Orcs to the North and Drown are showing up in the North Eastern Deep Forest.
Ran a campaign covering Ten Years of play. Starting out at age 18 years old and ending around 28 to 34 years of age.
a.) Main character I had grew up with a few of his half siblings and did a military campaign for a full season with a "young Steel Regent " fighting to defend the Northern Boarder against the Orcs.
His adventuring career lend him becoming a Pirate King, commanding a fleet of raiding ships.
Setting up farming towns and shipyards in southern "safe zones." And sending troops and supplies Cormyr.
It was a game shop with an open campaign setting so we had "player group vs players" as foes to mess up each other's conquest. So none of the shops DMs let us get away with Murder Hobo.
i.) The worst part was the DMs cram nearly 200 years worth of history of Coin wealth inflation and money scams and con jobs into the game.
ii.) wizards create Wall of Iron, turning the metal into weapons and armor with my
" Imperial Seal," then after the troops get the equipment out into the field, it is hit with a Dispel Magic causing the crafted goods to vanish. " Loss of Reputation."
iii.) wizard cast Wall of Iron/ gold/ silver. minting a wealth of coins for tax payment and troop paid. Then the troop pay just Vanish. " Greater Loss of Reputation."
iv.) wizards Polymorph medium size fish into large cows, salt and smoke them into troop rations . First the food does not provide full nutrition value, then 1/8th of the food ration mass vanish. " Total Loss of Reputation !"
Still ended the game as the First Emperor of Seven Kingdoms.
No one else of the Imperial Council wanted the Title !
2.) Secondary character, Half-celestial male drow wizard Loremaster son of the drow goddess
Eilistraee and he became a leader of the Vhaeraun drow in the north eastern forest.
    A 14th-level wizard spell caster with rogue3rd/fighter4th. CR:21
    " I was all a plot device character. I was like,' my mother/ father is who ? ! "
I played character that wanted nothing to do with being a " Divine King of the Drow," of Cormyr
so the Pc elected me as one and the DM more or less rail road the plot for my drow PC into being one.
a.) I wanted my character to drink wine in the forest at night and magic a bunch of magic items that reshape the local landscape. But none of the other drow knew how to deal with
" the humans," they elected my wizard to be the King. To play politics..
The Cormyr nobles basically hated the drow forest rogues acting like rangers protecting the eastern forest front from the orcs and ogres in the foot hills. And the drow flouted their standing in the Cormyr courts.
    Great time for roll playing.

Patrolling the stonelands may be seen as a luxury depending on which enemies you make. For rest assured: for every deed done, an eye is caught. Be they in admiration and recognition of what you have done, or in envy and weariness. These two walk hand in hand in every rank, and no rank is more lethal than that of the royals. Our illustrious lady Raedra Obarskyr saw fit to grant me the title of knight for my service during the defense of the dalelands. Her admiration earned me the scorn of her court, who'd not see someone of as low birth as myself muddle the nobility any further. They saw to my families ruin, and to my exile. On my oath, I shall gather allies until my voice can no longer be ignored. I shall see this infestation cut out of the court and my family restored!

I am playing a Purple Dragon Knight in a campaign. He is the second son of an Earl, and a bastard. The first son would be a Baron, but what would my character be? Would he have any title or even a claim to one? Or would he just be addressed as Sir Knight, or by his military rank of Lionar?

Do you have a breakdown of the lineage of Cormyr's royalty to show successions ? I'd like to see what the breakdown is since King Azuon IV death ? I'm kinda confused as to his legitimate heirs and well as any info on his illegitimate heirs. My group is about to start a game in the months beginning after King Azuon IV is killed at the conclusion of the Goblin Wars. What would you recommend as a key reference resource on Cormyr of that time? I'm enjoying your videos and the presentation flow that you've created.
