My thoughts on the meaning of the song are that the Shepard of Fire, obviously lucifer. However I think it portrays him as a pitiful, lonely creature begging for people to come to the dark side with him. Luring in the weak with empty promises . To me makes satan desperate for people to choose him over the rules and restrictions placed on you in your chosen religion. Sad creature

I said this before, but I discovered A7X while deployed in Iraq. Song was Bat Country. Anyway the my buddy had it on his I Pod. I liked the song so much that every time we went out into the suck, we jammed to Bat Country first. Became a ritual. Then he got this I pod speaker station with a 12v power source and we jammed to Bat Country while running convoys along Irish in the suck in humvees. I say thank you A7X for being along during the suck.
They never really had an old style if u listen to all of the albums they sound different. They have been evolving and changing through out every album. They have even said that them selves.

I already listened to the whole album for the first time, at night, when yesterday led into August 27, the release date of the album. ... IT WAS PURE AWESOMENESS!! That's what I was expecting of it, especially since it's by Avenged Sevenfold!! :3 To me, this album was entirely worth waiting all that time for!! :D
certain bands do covers of songs but tweak the words a little bit like land of confusion. it was originally by genesis, but then disturbed changed it a little bit and the style of it.
I feel like this is my favorite song off this record so far.. but I know its not.. idk theyre all my favorite but theres something about this one... idk I love it all! amazing job.
