Superb!!! My old school in the background....in 1986, from my view in The Maths Block, I would watch the 37's arrive at Thurso. ... 10:50am I seem to remember ....

Thanks Roy. I had forgotten about that little train shed at the end of the platform.

Fantastic Roy! I`m absolutely loving these 1980`s era videos , There is nothing quite like the sound of a class 37, Great footage from over 30 years ago, Brilliant! 👍

Great film Roy, I really enjoyed watching that ! My interest in railways began as a young lad in Nairn in the late 70s and our family also went on our summer holiday every year not far from Georgemas... a fascinating place for rail enthusiasts ! Thanks for posting.

Thurso Station was built by my great great grandfather's company. I used to spend lots of time there after school helping the guards unload the mail coach on the 3.30 inbound. The end of the terminus building used to have glass windows on the arch, the framing of which is still there. Those old goods trolleys were very heavy. I used to walk up that hill to the cut through the high school to go home afterwords. It's all too overgrown now. There have been lots of changes around, the aution mart was demolished and there's now a Premier Inn beside the station.

Intrigued by the title, ScotRail Journeys (plural) in 1986, am hoping that means there are more to come.

I think the guard you see getting on the train before it leaves Thurso went by the nickname of "phantom".
