Log Loader Road Trip

- We took the AM Machinery Log Loader Dump Trailer on a short road trip and brought back some BIG Red Oak Logs
Local lot was cleared about a mile and a half from our wood lot, and there was lots and lots of Red Oak. We hauled (4) loads of logs with our trailer. Each trailer load was approx 2 cords of logs. So when I tell you these trailers pay for themselves here's the math, $200/cord x (4) loads w/ (2) cords each = $1600 firewood value. That should make a couple months worth of payments, and that was just ONE day!!!
These Red Oak logs were big, but not as big as I originally thought. Still a good work out for the AM190 log loader and a good show of what it can do.

AJ, it really does handle Wood well, would be handy in my area, people constantly asking for someone to haul wood away. My Firewood sales are just a hobby. 👍🏼🇱🇷

The AM-190 makes easy work of it. There’s one size larger loader, an AM-230. Hope to get some video soon.

I’m surprised that Honda did that good with those logs. Can you get different grapple options or is this the only option? Can you put this setup on different trailers?
It all comes down to the pump. The 13hp Honda keeps up pretty well. Yes, the AM-190 can be put on any of our trailers or one you already own. We do a clam bucket with either closed sides or open sides
AJ... have you ever added one of those grapples to a bumper pull dump trailer without reconfiguring the tongue? what is the ballpark cost of the grapple unit alone?
You need at least a 5’ tongue. Some trailers have too short of a tongue and you loose your turn radius.
Question, I do bulk trash pickup for small communities. Would one of these rigs work for collecting like sofas, C&D, and other big bagged items?
absolutely. I have a guy up in New England that is a scrapper. Its all he does with it. Refrigerators, Ovens, stoves, washers, ....
Does that boom have 360 swing? Would be nice for loading some smaller logs onto the flatbed of the tow vehicle.
absolutely, they actually go 365* so its more than 360*
I run a full time firewood business in the state of Colorado I have a firewood processor a dump trailer F-250 truck selling firewood doesn't make me a whole lot of money when something breaks down can't even afford to fix it just hoping I win the lottery so I can pay off what I got and buy a tractor and one of these huge wood loader machines but the chance of that is not likely I'm 29 years old pro arborist climb trees in the summer sell wood in the winter move property to property login trees working my way up
We all gotta start somewhere. This has been an exciting 6 year process. I reinvest every dime back into the business to have what we have. Lots of sweat, blood and tears too

I would think you would swing the side down or remove so you don't have to lift over. Someday your going to bend the crap out of one.
Why? Everything we’re doing is well inside the capacity for the loader. If your truck can haul 2000#’s do you haul it in (5) 400# loads? We purchased the trailer to haul heavy logs, so that’s what we do.
