- I visit Morecambe in Lancashire where the seaside town isn't supposed to be the greatest. I check out the abandoned sea front hotels and get into some decent (dodgy) looking pubs whilst seeing all what Morecambe has to offer! Join Me!

Grabbing a drink in Manchester's roughest estate - th-cam.com/video/UrXGO9YWA7k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=wctSz1udIw4ZdVxx
It is wrong to assume Morecambe is a "rough town".
I see it still with an outsider's eyes, despite living up here for over ten years, (from Manchester).
The Lord Nelson is a cracking boozer, "rough" is well wide of the truth.
The Guinness is worth a 10/10 anywhere in The British Isles, show me a superior offering, more importantly, name the pub and town.
Thanks for shining a light on, "The Jewel of the North Lancashire Coast", 'THIS', is the coming place ! Hard to spot any litter on your well made upload, (on a very windy day) ?
Bring me sunshine In your smile, bring me laughter, all the while, may each day that you live, only bring you happiness,
bring me joy, bring me sunshine, bring me love..........COME ON YOU SHRIMPS !
Man I love your videos, that town was not bad. Had to stop the booze twenty years ago but love looking at the pubs and the towns you go to, the folks and the scene. Was happy this town was not littered with trash and burned abandoned buildings. Plus they had amusement areas for the kiddos.
Yeh there are far worse, litter wasn't too bad. Just not much do and afew run down buildings. Bangin that 20 years mate. Good on ya
West end morecambe full of litter shit and needles dumped fridges mattresses you name it
Travelled up to Morecambe from London for a midweek football match a couple of years ago following Charlton. Loads of our lot stayed overnight. I stayed at the Strathmore Hotel along the seafront. The breakfast was very good!
We all got contacted by the management of the pub called The Boardwalk a few days before we went up. They said groups of away fans were welcome so we all went there before and after the game. Can't remember anything about the pub but I had a rotten hangover on the way home the following day lol
Noticed the Wetherspoons is called the Eric Bartholomew, which is Eric Morecambe's real surname. 😂
Shocking 🤣
Didn't know that. Thanks
The naming of Weatherspoons pubs is laughable. They will change the name of local pubs that have historically significant names and try to make them sound historic, while removing their actual historic significance.
@@thedeepesthat4029Starbucking, man. It's happening everywhere.
@@jackrichardson4089I understood that reference.
Thanks so much for uploading...love ya great adventures!! All the best from Australia!!!
Cheers pal. Take it easy 👍
Nothing better than Northern soul in the background when you walked in. kTF ✊️✊️
Congratulations on your win !! at last !!!! - Keep the vids coming - this channel is bloody brilliant !
Cheers pal 🤣 appreciate it
They used to say they don't bury folks in Morecambe, they stand 'em up in bus shelters!!!!
Never heard that 🤣
Haha - we did indeed used to say that. All over Morecambe old people propped up in bus shelters.....half of them probably dead 😂
The buses are that bad 🤣🤣
@@leegorman8322 No,he said bushes 😆
Colin Crompton, 1970!
Eric Morecambe statue- "Who's this?"
OMG!
🤣🤣
Recently stumbled on this channel due to my random TH-cam algorithms. Loving it so far, keep it up pal 👍🏻
Cheers pal. Really appreciate it 👍
I like your non-judgemental attitude of the places you go and the people you see. A refreshing change. Especially on the Internet.
Cheers pal. Really appreciate it
Love watching you hunt for rough pubs in Britain from my sofa here in Sweden
Sweden has its problems but your cities and towns do look very rundown if i may say so.
And who doesn’t love a good pint of Guinness!
Yeh mate we are in decline. Mainly due to lazy scruffy people. Take it easy over there!
It doesn't help that a lot of UK architecture is 100-200 years old, giving a lot of places a gothic and depressing look. The litter and lack of upkeep though is more due to culture and the government
@@honestplacesmainly due to mass immigration if we are honest.
Malmo is as rough as any city in the UK.
@@honestplaces yes lazy scruffy people are the reason Britain is in decline. Nothing to do with politicians or the fact people get cheaper holidays abroad leaving these places pretty much to crumble.
That's the problem with wannabe middle-class people they always blame the less fortunate for societies problem.
You said the same about the rubbish In Birmingham, that's why we pay council tax for the council to lift our rubbish.
Loving the regularity of new videos mate keep it up loving the content
Cheers pal. Really appreciate it
Banging! Is what it is! Lol
Love the content man, keep it up.
Cheers pal 🤣
Daughter lived in lancaster when she was at uni, and we often would visit morecambe. Morecambe winter gardens, pretty spooky that, and lots of memoribilia in there. Station promenade and the kings arms, pretty decent places to eat. Morecambe is a good place if you want to have a long walk on the seafront and get your steps in.
Thought Eric deserved a bit more respect. He was, after all, one of England’s funniest man. Just saying.
Not well known of him 🤣
I never found them two funny at all,in fact any of the Northern comics.
Don't drink in Morecambe. It's just not wise.
I always thought he was massively overrated ,not funny at all
Meh…
Ayyyee another upload. I’m honestly loving this series!
Cheers pal 👍🍺
If a guy in a strange town said to me "You're best off getting a bus and getting the fook out of this town" I'd probably sht my pants and do as I was told.
🤣 had to see for myself

rockin' the face fuzz, eh lad.
John Eric Bartholomew OBE (14 May 1926 - 28 May 1984), known by his stage name Eric Morecambe, was an English comedian who together with Ernie Wise formed the double act Morecambe and Wise. The partnership lasted from 1941 until Morecambe's death in 1984. Morecambe took his stage name from his home town, the seaside resort of Morecambe in Lancashire. bless 'im!
'avin a cuppa, watchin' this on a sund'y mornin'. revvin' up to go shoppin'. gonna do mesen a roast dinner. bit much for a single bloke but i fancy one.

another great bit of content bro stunning camera work done realy👌👌👌👌👌 enjoyed the good vid keep them coming bro stunning channel
Totally hooked on this channel been in a fair few boozers in my time but there's always another one around the corner. I'm also a big fan of any ropey looking or unusual pub myself, especially ones with a flat roof.
Cheers pal. Yeh flat roof pubs are the don! Not many about anymore!
Flat roof 😂😂😂
You and Wendall's vids on Britain are the best out there right now. We're not coming back to England thanks to you two 😅 Cheers 🍻
Lookng forward to the next one
🤣 appreciate it mate! Not much here pal, good call!
Agree some top content, though must say there are still some really nice places in England to visit, you could go to any country and find some dives.
@@Richy91That's true
Great upload, I've never been to morcombe so it's good to see a different side
Cheers pal. It's ok for half a day, but not worth a long car journey
Love your stuff mate
Cheers pal. Appreciate it 👍
If you ever get out to Australia pal, my word there are some right dingy Australian pubs you’d love. “Proper ropey”
Been to afew. Love to explore the whole country!

The bay is stunning in morecombe
Nice looking pint of Guinness!
Top tier!
Cool stuff..broski. I have been in the Lord Nelson myself a few times when travelling down from Lytham for for a mooch..the Guinness in there is really good..keep on keepin on 🍻💪

Nice to see sunny Morecambe! Born and raised there. You should have come to Lancaster, we have a pub there.
Just one pub? 🤣
good content fella ,, only problem is i end up going on 3 days benders after watching one your vlogs , hahahahahaha
Gotta admit Morecombe does look rough af and of course the legendary eric statue is there nice that guiness looked the business so worth going good stuff danny 😍
Yeh mate, just abit ropey and not much to do....Guinness bang on
@honestplaces yeah my favourite guiness when it's done right😎
Used to live in Morecambe, many moons ago. The Queens on the front was always a bit lively!!!TBH it was always treated as the poor cousin to Lancaster, that's always benefitted from the university money. Still have a soft spot for the place.
Yeh mate, guessing alot of folks just go thete for there daily shop and drink iniy
another cracking video. Bit of a trek but Gt Yarmouth has a ton of dingy pubs, you should visit
Cheers pal....now that is a trek! 🤣
Am waiting for the day ya end up totally pissed singing a few take that songs on the karaoke in a rough pub now there’s an epic episode BANGIN
🤣🤣 when i do my camera is always off
Thanks!
Cheers pal. Very much appreciated. Goes a long way pal 👍
@@honestplaces2 or 3 pints in a ropey pub that lol
Lancaster is a very tame, sheltered and prosperous little city. A lot ofnpeople seem simple minded. Maybe if you live near there you would think Morcambe's rough.
Have a Guinness, keep up the good work 👏
Cheers pal. Very much appteciated!!!! 👍🍺
First pub n pint looked decent ,lovely old job
Bangin mate
Not been to the Lord Nelson in years and it hasn't fucking changed a bit! Apart from the no smoking!
Love the videos .
Cheers pal. Appreciate it 👍
Go on Danny lad I’m obsessed with ya content lad puts a smile on my face, we need Honest places on tour in Europe
Cheers pal! Maybe, more uk to do at the min!
@@honestplaces we know
Have ya back my lad
Darlington
SWorked there for a few days, found a decent pub with a lovely big window with a view of the bay, and sunset. forget the name
Sounds bangin
Its proper sad looking at how some of these places have fallen into hard times and disrepair. All that should be prime coastal real estate.
Shocking init
I like the timing....whether it was deliberate or not when walking past the weatherspoons and you saying it's a bit big and a big (Overweight) dude is nearby!
🤣🤣🤣
Mate I really like Morecambe...nice vid.
Cheers pal
That Guinness did look good 👌
Best i've had in ages! 🍺
Bangin keychain no doubt man
🤣 trendy
Disappointed in how Morcambe has become. This was quite the seaside town in the 50`s & 60`s but at least they`ve still got some pubs & the housing looks decent enough so there`s still pride in the area. Lancaster next then? Keep up the great content!
Yeh mate i agree. Typical seaside town init. Dunno mate 🤣
Golden Lion in Lancaster. Lovely boozer close to city centre with a quality pint of Guinness. Other than that plenty of choice in Lancy.
I've been in the Lord Neslon a few times. It's shabby, but it's good fun and quite cheap during the week. The West End of Morecambe has a couple of proper ruff places.
Yeh....bangin in there!
First Genius looked nice
Bangin mate. Top teir
Another great video. Its a shame how far our cities and resorts have fallen ! Seaside towns were amazing in the 90s.
Can I ask, do any of the pubs ever object to the video ??
Lancaster is definitely a much nicer place. I lived there for about 8 years. Tons of very nice pubs. There was one which I never went to called the Boar's Head. I feel like anywhere which says it has a "nice friendly atmosphere" on the outside definitely does not. I always got the impression that unless you were already a regular or a friend of a regular, you weren't welcome.
I've had people tell me that the Penny Bank was rough, but I've been in a few times and it's been nice. And very cheap.
Another sound video 👍🏼👍🏼😎
Cheers pal 👍
Thanks Danny great as always…have a Guinness on me👍
Cheers pal. Very much appreciated mate 👍🍺
Loving the Charles Bronson look 😎😆
🤣🤣cheers
It's a shame Maggie O'Connor's (aka Maggies Bar) isn't still in business....definately would have set off the rough pub radar alert 😂!
That does sound tasty
Whereabouts was "Maggie's Bar" ?
@@rogeredmunds5806 It was down on Springfield St in the West End. At one point it was known as "Bierkeller".
Enjoy the vids i like the sayings 'it is what it is' and 'splitting the G' . On the guiness trail id like to see best of the G ireland vid that could be epic !!
Yeh deffo man. Wanna do proper Ireland Guinness split. Cheers pal
Thank you for the videos, they are brilliant, generally I don't leave comments, but today I do!!! So don't stop in England... Take it on tour... Europe next....
Love love your videos ,but may I suggest your jacket
Looks make you a seal crossed with a polar bear ha ha
🤣
Just come home from morecambe weren't too bad tbh. bit run down but like any sea side town in England atm most unfortunately have seen better days.
Yeh just not much to do really init. Half a day and you're done
Yhyh 100 percent half a day you've boxed it off 😂
Great Yarmouth is about the only one I still enjoy on the seafront , loads to do, but even there the back streets have become run down and the hotels have turned into flats
"Bangin' stained glass" - you'll do for me fella
🤣 gotta appreciate it
I went down to Bournemouth a couple of weeks ago. Even that place has fallen into decline. Looks rundown, faded and dirty. Such a shame.
Hard to find half decent seaside now init!
@honestplaces Definitely. Provincial towns have or are going the same way too. Just shows the country is now in deep decline. Will watch this later when I get out of work. 👍 Love your stuff. 🙂
Bournemouth Centre is now like Boscombe 😢
Southport is decent
@@honestplaces Why is it in the UK the seaside towns are going down hill the last few years? I live in Ireland and its the exact opposite over here, seaside property is nearly as expensive Dublin or any of the larger City's. I have friends from sea side towns and they just get priced out of the mark trying to buy homes, its kind of sad. Love the series by the way.
Used to go morecambe once a year for the football think it was York Hotel we used to go not a bad little pub
Been revamped now, but not a bad pub to be fair.
Ah mate, I've recently got into your videos and I live here in Morecambe. It's not as bad as you may think upon first impressions, sadly it seems you've missed some 'dodgy" gems. I'd definitely recommend a visit to Lancaster next time you're in the area though, I could reel off some great pubs for you to try there.
Yeh afew people said i missed afew. Was happy with the ones i went in 👍 take it easy pal
Another top video bro try make them bit longer 👍
Cheers pal. Maybe i'll just chat more rubbish next time 🤣
@@honestplaces ha ha lol 😆 well didn't look like there was much to do there to be honest 😄 😅

Watching this at work just made me want a Guinness
Get one!!
Get down to Cleethorpes fella. Also Lupset estate in Wakefield
They angin?

Hey mate love your vids! Please do one in Blackburn. The town is split muslims and whites half and half. Walk from Audley (Muslim area) to the town centre to Bar Ibiza and Sun pub (proper rough). Would make great content.
Can't believe you didn't recognise Eric Morecambe... Where you been living under rock😂
🤣
Hi Sir love your videos should try great Yarmouth specially in the winter time it’s depression I had to to work there for three months
Will do. Just so far 😢
I can understand that keep up the great work
With so many rough places in the UK, this series should keep you going for months, if not years!!! One might be tempted to ask why the UK has so many dumps...?
Yeh seems like it 🤣
rhyls top notch affluent tory and and ..wow what a dream i dreamt my town was rich... gisa job sunak...
It's a shame Crystal T's wasn't open anymore, you could have gone into the roughest nightclub in the North

Did you really not know Eric Morecombe? Love the vids 👌
No 🤣🤣🤣 cheers pal
You should do a pub crawl in Barrow in Furness. That would be tasty!
That is next week i think 🤣
If you use a "Noise Gate" software on the Audio in the Editor, you can eliminate the Music in background IF you find your getting copyright strikes as happens to some Folks.

Looks a nice wee town but needs some big investment. Has potential to be a busy place.
Yeh mate, no much to do there at the min
Said the same on a visit last year
You missed the roughest bit.. the West end.. other side of the front
How rough is it?
All relative I guess.. but far more boarded up buildings.. run down
West end makes the part you went look like beverley hills@@honestplaces
That's where 21 Chinese workers drowned on an incoming tide in 2004. When you're out on any sands at low tide be aware that the tide can come in behind you and cut you off. And those types of beaches can also have patches of quicksand.

I know the back streets of Blackpool are very grim...but least the front has lots going on...that Morecambe looks dead...think I'd be bored shitless!!
The only way Blackpool could look like 'Vegas' would be on a moonless night when there has been a power cut.
