Hello, just recently came across your video and it has been very helpful. Me and my mum are going to Disneyland Paris and staying in the hotel next month, for the first time at that hotel, and the room does look basic, but nice. I suppose we are only gonna be sleeping in it, so basic is really all you need if you aren't going to be spending much time in your hotel room, we will most likely be going to the hotel room during the day like once to rest our feet. I have also been wondering where the meet and greets were in the hotel as some videos show the spot but I don't think they mention where they are and you have so thank you. I also heard about the rooms refurb but I don't think it has been confirmed because when I asked on the Disneyland Paris Facebook they said they didn't have any information about it. I think the main thing people have been saying is that they need more power outlets as people have to take out plugs to put their stuff on charge or to use it, like hairdryers, etc.
Glad you found useful and thanks for watching. I haven't heard anymore about the refurb...and yes some more power outlets would be good there. Hope you have a great time when you go. We are on our next Disney adventure really soon and will be uploading lots more content soon.
Hi there, hoping you're all well 😊 Great to see a video about Sequoia.... I know its gets quite a bit of criticism about the rooms looking a bit tired & in need of a bit of pixie dust lol 😛and needing more electric/usb points? But i think the theming & that glorious Redwood Bar absolutely shine! I do prefer staying in a room in the main building travelling solo, as back in 2004 ( oh god, 20 yrs ago...eek! ) I stayed in a lodge room & it felt a bit too rural and lonely really. Am actually considering a stay maybe a bit later in the year 😍have been comparing some prices & they're coming up quite favourable!!!! lol 🤩🙌 Are the coffee/tea facilities in all the standard rooms now as you used to have to request a kettle? Thanks & have a great weekend. x
Hi Debbie, we are ok thanks...a slow start to 2024 (various reasons) but back now!. Totally understand from a solo travelling point of view that the lodges would maybe feel that way for you and I get why the main building would be a great advantage. We have stayed at Sequoia 3 times now and twice in the Lodges...as for which is the best for us, I feel I want to say Lodges but will let you know as NEXT TIME we are staying in the Lodges. Prices for Sequoia can be pretty good to be honest and it's definitely a Hotel to seriously look at for value. It does need an upgrade but most of it we have always found in line with the charm and rustic feel and never bothered us. I do believe Sequoia will be going through a BIG REFURB during 2024 anyway, so we will see. The Tea and Coffee facilities as far as I know are standard now...you don't have to request a kettle (I know you used to and often I would take a travel one anyway), but I do believe all as standard since they have taken out the machines for free drinks here and Newport Bay, however not sure if that is the case for the Lodges?. The rooms in the main building have the coffee machines, but again not sure if the Lodges do? - I will have to find this out before our next stay. I think just Santa Fe that has machines for free drinks now. Thanks as always for watching...enjoy your weekend.x
We’ll be staying at Sequoia Lodge this year. Last time we stayed was back in 2016. When will Disney start refurbishing the bedrooms? Some people say some corridors and hallways at Sequoia Lodge have already been refurbished.
Thanks so much for watching and apologies for the delay in replying!. I am not aware of an exact date for Sequoia Lodge Refurb, but I understand it was due to start as soon as The Disneyland Hotel opened...given that has opened now, I imagine work will start on Sequoia. It could be some parts may have been refurbished, for instance the pool area was closed for a very long time, so as far as I know this should have been completed. The pool was open and looked great the last time we were there. The corridors etc in the main building didn't look like they had been redone, however we have not stayed in the main building before - so I only had the Lodges to compare too. It might be work will start on the Lodges first? If I hear anything more I will post a comment!.
I have no idea what disney is doing with their prices. I booked new port bay hotel for june 2024, on jan 10. It was 1.085.euro.exactly one week later i made the same booking: 1.692 euro.. 600!!! Euros more for 2 nights.. only reply from disney:" yea prices can change.. yea 600 in one week.. thats totally criminal.. this seqoia costs 50% less compared to the 5☆ disney hotel , btw.
Yep totally agree!. Honestly prices can change dramatically by the day!. If you search a day or so either side of the dates you want, you can notice massive differences and between the Hotels there are sometimes big gaps in prices like you say. Gone are the days when we went 2017, 2018 and 2019 where we got some amazing deals with all food added in as well!. Last year, Feb 2023 we stayed at Newport Bay and got a good deal...think in Winter you can get those odd times where Newport Bay can be a bit cheaper, but on the whole Sequoia comes up quite good with the value for pricing. Thanks so much for watching!.
