I *especially* enjoyed the jam part of this episode. Nice playing, and it's interesting to hear the effect in a mix. Very different to hearing them solo.

Best Pick'N'Mix ever! Yes, please do include the jams at the end as they give much better context as well as show some creative uses that would sound silly or un-useful outside of a mix.

Had one and regret it ....with a providence sov-z for crunch sound, it was killer ! Better I think than the Jetter gold std I have ! Easier to damn. Jetter volume is hard to kind , it is so loud !!!!

Diamond are a top company. I bought a second hand Boost/EQ pedal and it had a problem. Emailed them to see if they knew what it could be and see if they could offer any advice - not only did they help, but they offered to send me the part free of charge! Didn't ask for a serial number or proof or purchase or any of that stuff. Brilliant customer service!

The backing tracks is a good way to contextualize a pedal. Pete Thorn does a really good job of this. This format is IMO better that the "let's review 4 pedals on speed" approach from earlier times. Good 1st effort!

Diamond Tremolo is absolutely Killer. Thick, Throbbing Analog Tremolo with Tons of Options & Flexibility. Its because of Dan & Mick - that I had to have a Phenomenal Sounding Tremolo Pedal. It's more useful that I ever imagined. I keep it at the: (end of my signal chain) after my DD-500 > Big Sky > Diamond Tremolo = Monster Sound !!!

Jam/Context is great. but most importantly how can it ever really take longer than it should if you're into it and having fun, unless its eating into time with loved ones. It's always a high light when the two of get caught up in something you really enjoy over getting stuck on something frustrating and wonky (but those moments are always teachable ones and I think I've learned a lot from them)

One thing that I've noticed is Mick's phrasing is, though always tasteful, is always WAY more original when he plays in a musical context (backing tracks, studio, etc.). His solo was outstanding on the jam section.

  • @satchmodog2

I was laid up a few weeks and to fend off boredom, I watched several years of tour show. What I came to realize was how much more Mick gets into his playing when using a humbucker guitar. Mick always looks happier, free and blissful playing humbuckers, yet he favors his Strat. Food for throught, Mick. Go back and watch your playing and listen. It's even more spectacular.

So excited to see this video! The new Fender stereo pedals (Bubbler chorus, Pinwheel rotary, and the Tre-Verb) are pretty amazing, and I think the Tre-Verb is one of the best of the bunch. I especially love the reversability of it. I've also been really intrigued by the Union T&T pedals.
I've always been a trem into reverb girl, but one thing you didn't mention is that the Tre-Verb is a fully stereo pedal, stereo in and stereo out, which makes it perfect after a stereo chorus and delay. I'm really hoping that Fender releases a stereo version of their Marine Layer Reverb, because I want to hear the Tre-Verb going spring into trem, then into a stereo digital reverb.
Yes, keep the jam. it's very useful.

showing these pedals in a song context is such a good idea. It works particularly well here IMO partially because Dan and Mick have different styles while also being very respectful of how the other plays, which makes it mesh really well. And having each of them take just two pedals to focus on keeps it nice and concise, to the point where i was only listening (not watching) as they played along to the track and i could still tell who was who and which pedals they were using. Can’t say enough good things!

Many have said it here, so I’ll be unusually brief. I know I’ve been a real PITA about this, but it’s absolutely true. Aside from demonstrating features, hearing all of this gear in isolation is of limited value. Heard in a band/recording mix it all comes into proper focus. It’s interesting how the effects so greatly diminish when other instruments are playing along. Thanks for this addition and please, keep doing it. Cheers and congrats for the 200K.
