- In this video we're going to bring you the beauty of the Cades Cove loop in the Smoky Mountains. We went in the fall when the drive is even more beautiful than usual. We also stopped at the old farm with the grist mill, barns, and even caught a beautiful moment where a staff member was playing a harpsichord.

I was there in July of 1981. The Smoky Mountains never leave your soul it is just majestic beyond belief. I thank you and your wife so very much for being boots on the ground for summer 💜🙏

The settlers and Native Americans bartered and helped each other build, store food, harvest, and they were a close-knit settlement. I'm proud of whence I came.
Thank you again for the ride along. Cades Cove is so beautiful, can't you just imagine living there in that settlement. It must have been a very hard life, but rewarding to wake up to that view every day. I loved the man on the dulcimer playing "Sweet Hour of Prayer" lovely even with his missed note.😂. Cades Cove is where my paternal family is from. John Oliver was my Grandfather's great grandfather. Tiptons, Shields, Carters. I hope you hiked Abrahm's Falls. It's worth the climb. You can find many of my ancestors in the Methodist Church cemetery. Fact.

I first went with my Grandfather as an early teen. He showed me everything. My sister has the book printed about Cade's Cove and my heritage. Beautiful, isn't it?
Been here hundreds of times,I'm a local too and appreciate all the hard effort you and your wife put out to help find precious innocent little Summer Wells, Cades Cove is a old family places of my family long ago,Oliver's tomb stones,all about,it's so peaceful and beautiful

Lots of wildlife early in the morning and later in the afternoon. I have had the pleasure of visiting twice. I was married on the other side of the mountain, in Wears valley on top of a mountain, in a little white chapel.

This was early afternoon - probably why we didn't see any black bear. After 3pm is much better if you want to see any bear.
