My personal opinion has ALWAYS been that Robert Cray is the most underappreciated guitar player of the last 25 years

Mr. Cray is a great craftsman. Strong rhythm, sing-a-long solos and efortless R&B singing voice.

That's exactly the type of guitar playing I enjoy most! Have been trying to incorporate it into playing with the band but this doesn't always work good. This task was accomplished successfully by legends like Hendrix or John Mayer Trio - the kind of arrangement where it works is really rare and requires a lot of skill

Great song to highlight both picking and fretting hand dynamics. Also a great choice to highlight a song with rhythm and lead/solo......not different from Hendrix's strongest attributes. Also, great job of showing the "flavor" of variations, noting that tension in the right hand will restrict he picking/strumming feel. Great video!!

This is my favorite lesson by you and you’ve had some amazing offerings over the years. I’ve been a Robert Cray fan for the last 37 years. The basic rhythm (without the vamp) as you finger pick is reminiscent of some of the Bossa Nova patterns I’ve picked up along the way. It’s interesting to note how readily we can overlap genres like R&B, Funk, Blues, & Bossa Nova.

Can you play THIS riff? Anyway you could do the James Burton lead electric guitar intro, solo and fills from the Judy Collins version of Someday Soon as found on the studio album Who Knows Where the Time Goes? NOT the Buddy Emmons Steel parts ... a LOT of vids out there on that ... but NOBODY on YT has ever done the James Burton stuff. That is a shame because this tune REALLY helped to get Country Rock rolling back in the day.
