    This was great shared with family who say trust the science and I say trust God. Blessings to you.

    This was a Home Run interview! Please have him back for more! And yes, I watched all the way to the end (and will again).... just helping to flatten your curve (in re: stats graph on excerpt video) :)

    What a great discussion! Thank you both. Speaking of CS Lewis, it occurs to me that the Space Trilogy is a narrative rebuke of scientism and a view into the pre-modern worldview.

      I'm sure you mean Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry, since you apply the acronym as an adjective to organic chemist...I suppose non-chemists might think you mean Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, but once you've set up and analyzed a few thousand LC/MS runs, it's hard to think of the letters meaning anything else!

    • @danieldobbins2850
      @danieldobbins2850 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@AncientNovelist I actually meant Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Haha I wasn't sure if I'd have to clear up that acronym confusion or not! I didn't expect too many other organic chemists here in the comments!

      So glad I am not only scientist...I jest...Confessional Lutheranism is the only real faith scientists can sign on to! P.S. I enjoyed heterocyclic organic chemistry on my road to medical school...so fascinating!

    Love the concept of losing frogginess of frog. When the soul is separated from the body and you dissect body...you only get parts...not personality or spark of humanity as God created us.

    I am a scientist by training, not philosopher, theologian, or cowboy and such. That being said, still Lutheran curious and intrigued at depth of thought and discussion. Scripture focuses on the "I" initially, the 'we," of Isreal. Then "we" is people group based, Babylonian, Roman, Greek, etc. Then after Christianity spreads, a few hundred years of "others" occur and Christianity spread like wildfire from the martyrdom of this "others" focus. Enlightenment comes back to I, with monarchy. Twentieth century "modernity" more a return to "we" but rather nationalism versus people/family groups. Then World Wars and bloodiest century so far. How do we get Christianity...especially in Merica where we are functionally Biblically illiterate back to the other focus? Matthew "Go, Baptize, make disciples, and teach all I taught you." Jesus. Discussion is amazing.

    EXTREMELY intereresting conversation, and EXTREMELY well put together. I know we are all "fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalms chapter 139), and that "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" (Psalm 111), and being how the world is right now I've been so ready for this discussion. Please do more presentations on this topic.

    There is no limit to science - it is a true statement. It is only the human knowlegde of science that is limited like us, humans. I hope one day all pseudo philosophers who pretend to teach in the name of God and confuse terms, will disappear.

    • @jenniferconnelly1426
      @jenniferconnelly1426 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In the sense of scientific method (observation) there are limitations. So, yes, human knowledge of science is limited. I encourage you to listen to this video, in its entirety, again -- with an open mind. Expand your knowledge, your understanding of "what is out there".

      Natalie, maybe if you keep thinking it through, and thinking it through and open your heart, your view will open up . . .(?)
