The Invasion story didn't just waste WCW, it completely broke the flow of everything in the WWF. It's like a confusing recreation of the NWO without any of the organic growth that made that story work before it got too big. So many wrestlers lost their own stories so they could be props in the Invasion storyline. Everybody is The Big Show, turning for no reason other than that the writers choose to flip the good/evil switch. By this point the story is on it's way out. The actual WCW talent has been shuffled to the side and with the remaining cast of characters the Invasion is almost entirely "a McMahon in every corner". Five of the participants in this match went on to compete in the Immunity Battle Royal on the main PPV. 3.This marks the final WWF PPV appearance for Debra, who will stick around until June 2002 before leaving alongside Austin. 4.NWA legend Wahoo McDaniel was in attendance.

Like a couple of other commenters I was at this show too and loved it. My favorite thing about Kurt’s knights of the round table bit is that nobody in the crowd reacted, implying the British don’t know their own history/folklore
Lacelot was totally a bad knight in the stories, he essentially turns heel and takes Authur's wife from him. which leads to them ultimately having to fight and Arthur killing him. that was essentially the beginning of the end, as it leads to his foretold death to his bastard son.

Oh mate the Trafford centre that basement with all the clothes that was like Camden market went there when we were in town for the ppv
@@WhatwouldRoddyPiperdo I was only 10 and was with my mum, I had ten quid spending money for the whole weekend. No such joy was spent at that market haha
@@UncledadBFD That's pretty cool like "muum can I have this it's a bunch of sweet boys singing about their first girlfriends" "sure" 🎶Iiii wanna f a dog in the a 😂
Only wrestling show and was headlined by Austin Vs Rock for the belt. You didn't need to go to another.
@@Devypocalypse if I remember correctly is this the one where they sang Elvis after the show and we had a big signalog with Rock Austin after the cameras went off? I'm sure it was this but I can't remember that well that far back
Brian: "Edge with the Edge-o-matic"
Me: "You mean the Unprettier?
Thank you for adding chapters!
Sir Lancelot stole his kings wife, Guinevere, and his betrayel led to the dissolution of the Knight of the Round Table...
Thank you for Diwali Dropping! Much love from India!
9:24 I think in some versions of the Arthurian tales Lancelot has an affair with Guenevere that sparks a civil war eventually leading to the downfall of Arthur's kingdom, because even ancient tales of chivalry are soap opera's when human nature remains the same.
Definitely some great signs on this show including "Ian Fryer Has Monkey Breath" and "Vince Waste WWF Talent"
Very late comment but it's amazing that Regal used to get boos in England. In the 20+ years since he's become such an icon, he could do whatever he wants and he'd still get cheered.
Kurt Angle was undercover for the WWF. He never joined the Alliance...
...
Which made him a heel the next day after survivor series. Which made no sense.
Love this show. Had it on VHS, among many others from 2000-2001.
Main Event delivered
I remember having this on DVD waaaay back in the day. Honestly, I was just happy to see WCW wrestlers in a WWF ring. Not getting Kevin Nash, Goldberg, and Hulk Hogan was kind of a blessing in disguise. Of those three, how many matches can we really call classics?
Like a couple of other commenters I was at this show too and loved it.
IIRC Stone Cold and The Rock stayed for about 20 minutes after the main goofing around and singing which they ended up repeating on a RAW or Smackdown segment a few weeks later.
Probably a toss up for my favourite WWF/E show I attended between this and Rebellion 2002 (could also be fun to hear your thoughts on this at some point Brian).
I feel like Scotty hit the worm quite often, since I’ve never seen this show it’s the first time I’ve ever seen him use it as a finisher in a match
My favorite thing about Kurt’s knights of the round table bit is that nobody in the crowd reacted, implying the British don’t know their own history/folklore
Well damn. Like KOF 15 you shattered my Expectations….you’re doing Rebellion ‘01. Nice!
That means in 2 More Weeks is Survivor Series ‘01.
Lacelot was totally a bad knight in the stories, he essentially turns heel and takes Authur's wife from him. which leads to them ultimately having to fight and Arthur killing him.
that was essentially the beginning of the end, as it leads to his foretold death to his bastard son.
I love the cage match finish. Very creative
Stacy Keibler And Mighty Molly Vs Torrie Wilson and Lita was a great Match this Gets 5 stars from me because I Remember this match like it was yesterday as I was 3 months old when this PPV Took place this PPV Was Awesome Great Review Brian your the best.
Now I want Shane McMahon doing a Merlin wizard gimmick 😂
Good video! Can't wait for the Survivor Series 01 review. My favorite PPV of all time.
Always look forward to your content. Really helps pass the work day. grateful 🙏 for the classic reviews
I appreciate your content. I look forward to these reviews and wait for the notification.
The “Brian Zane stops commentary to showcase wrestlers making weird noises in the ring” is my favorite genre.
Since I was a kid, me, my brother, my cousin and a few of my friends would point out the funny or weird noises. Like Jericho sounding like he's sneezing when he punches.
@@Hulkling93 I used to remember when he made those noises when he would chop someone. Had so much fun imitating it.
I used to mock how Mick Foley did his punches.
15:22 I laughed way too hard at this. 🤣
I love the spotlight Brian puts on those weird noises wrestlers sometimes make. lol
Actually Lancelot was kind of a bad guy toward the end of the Knights of the Round stories.
Brian channelling his inner Vince McMahon in the intro. “ it’s my channel and I can do what I want “. 🤣🤣 love it!! Are we going to see a heel turn?? Mr Zane maybe??
My first event I ever attended
On this nite aswell was the first match of billy and Chuck in a dark match lol
Im just patiently waiting for the WWW & Wrestling Bios collaboration!
Was there live for it, loved it.
There was a big riot in strangeways, but I mean that was 11 years before this ppv, wouldn't be like WWE to miss the mark with pop culture references like...
First thing I want to say is that DPP is 6'6 and he still looks like a small guy next to the Big Show. Secondly I think how you said to watch UK only ppvs is the best way to do it. They are pretty much one step above a house show. A glorified RAW I think is the best way to put it. Also I cant wait for you to review the first UK only PPV One Night Only. That Shawn Michaels-Bulldog match is an underrated classic imo.
First show I attended - after the show went off air they did a practice run of the Rock/Austin sing off promo they did on Raw a week later.
Been a subber for awhile now, love the channel, keep up the amazing work!
Ik its 2 years old, but I love the "diamond cutter" bit so much
