As a Joburger myself I can say that this area is actually safe. Even at night I walk with no problem. Both the Shoptrites you shown I shop there as well as Spar there by Ghandi. Joburg is coming alive. These developments are crucial for Jorburg. Thank you for showcasing my city to the world.
David is not just watching from the distance he actually got there and see everything for himself indeed there is a lot happening in JHB CBD they are paving putting network cables little by little Johannesburg will go back where it was in the 80s and early 90s I'm worried about our Calton Centre it looks neglected the building need some renovations because it still attract a lot of people but it's look like nobody cares about it when is raining water are licking all over the place please, please protect our Calton Centre

I live in the CBD at The Leo Lifestyle apartments which is another beautiful building with Brutalist architecture not too far away from the Absa towers. There some many beautiful old buildings in the CBD some just need to be renovated.
I drove around cbd last week, i was to totally impressed about cleanliness, whatever they are doing there its really commendable. If the infrastructure can be looked into, and safety, Joburg would be the place to visit and conduct business

I really love the old architecture, I’m glad those buildings are still on good shape 👌🏾 These guys are doing an amazing job, I’m blown away 🤯. It’s good to see that there are still people who have pride in the country they live in, that street at 19:56 looked like it could have been somewhere in Sandton or Rosebank.
The best part about this neighbourhood is that it’s people friendly and walkable and not centred around cars like most South African neighbourhoods that’s the kind of place I want to live in. Thanks for sharing this with us David, this type of content is absolutely needed! 😁

The streets are looking so clean and so well taken care of. It's Joburg like I have never seen it before. The new look is really exposing the beautiful architecture, which is in abundance in the city....Johannesburg will be fine...South Africa will be alright👌

With all the media frenzy about joburg being dangerous, i actually walked and enjoyed myself alot staying in braamfontein and walking to the cbd every time i was bored. I never got mugged or saw a crime in 4 years of being there

Hi Dave. Been following you since you had less than 300 subs thanks God your channel is growing exponentially. You are motivating SANs to fall in love with the CBD. Because of you I visited the mining town, Ghandi Square and Calton Center I have noticed vast improvements but a lot of work needs to be done to reach the level of Rosebank in terms of aesthetic appeal.
I personally believe that these small businesses operating on the sidewalks should be moved in to buildings . These street vendors low-key kinnda make streets look dirty .

That's another reason cape Town look so clean, they don't have them. So you are absolutely right they make invironment so irritating to walk pass.

Hi Chris. This is what I know about. The City of Johannesburg has strategically imploded the condemned Kaserne Building in Jeppestown, making room for a new mixed-use development that will provide low-cost housing.
