Smoky Mountains Backpacking Loop: Clingmans Dome, Andrews Bald, Forney Creek

Backpacking in the Smoky Mountains with my daughter Lydia in early July, 2016. She wanted a challenge, so I gave her one: a killer ascent to the highest point in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Appalachian Trail, Clingmans Dome. On the way there, we also took in Andrews Bald.
This was a 4-day loop to Clingmans Dome that began at the Noland Creek Trailhead. Trails included the Noland Creek Trail, the Springhouse Branch Trail, the Forney Ridge Trail, the Clingmans Dome Bypass Trail, the Forney Creek Trail, and the Lakeshore Trail.
During the trip, we survived both the long climb and a number of thunderstorms. The downed trees with the green leaves you see at the end of the video were recent blowdowns.
