This was the first NASCAR game I played. I started playing it at the age of 7. It's still one of my favorite NASCAR games, and I would still play it if I hadn't lost it. I learned a lot about pit strategy, drafting, when to make your move, etc. So many memories come from playing this game - what a game!
@@jason-zx2ju It does. The good news I got a PS2 cheap and bought a new version of this game because the old one scratched up and now having a blast. While the gameplay is outdated, this game has not aged one bit as the handling of the car on this game is good unlike the EA games and this game still as fun as was 17 years ago and the racing is top notch even though very arcade like. I recommend getting a PS2 at a pawn shop or retro gaming store and playing this again because you will have a blast like back then when you were kid. You'll surprised how good this game still is.
@@osurocks24 i have been ever since i put this comment 2 years ago lmao, the older arcadelike games are 100 times better than the shit they put out now
with less money, less driver licenced, not a full list of tracks, less advertising and yet the best damn game engine on consoles. thunder did great arcade racing, but this was the only thing that rivaled the papyrus NASCAR series. unlike the NBA nfl mlb and nhl NASCAR had the best competition of motorsports and sports genre of gaming
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! I remember playing this with my lil brother back in 2005. The only thing we did was start the race then drive the opposite way to see how big a crash we could make😂
Props to the developers and editors to the opening to Heat 2002 for that tribute to Dale at the end of the intro

@superka70 Lol this was just a test to see how well my HD-PVR records my PS2. I could post some gameplay in the future if you want lol.
@superka70 Well you can hook up regular AV cables to the HD-PVR and it can record in standard definition as well.
