Last month Jeff and I moved into out first apartment together and we wanted to tell you all what that process has been like. In this video we talk about deciding to move in together, looking for an apartment, and what we've learned in our first month of living together. Hope you enjoy it! (:

We have been together for 22 years, we moved in after 6 months and we lived in different states, Ugh. He is 50 and I'm 58 our lives are ever-changing. About 5 years ago my health went down the good old toilet. I have nerve damage that affects 80% of my body and also have mobility issues. The only way to explain it is I feel like I'm walking across a mattress.
You will have many life's issues come flying at you and if you survive those you are pretty good to go. We have both lost siblings, parents, grandparents, jobs, both have had major health issues. Don't ever lose your humor and this is the number one advice I can give you, have a good therapist. She has been a lifesaver for both of us. We wish you both much much happiness together.
They fight lovingly , you can tell they love each other.

Judging by your conversation, I can envisage a few "discussions" to be had between both of you but I feel you two are mature enough to overcome these. Please remember not to let any "discussion" carry on past sunset, clear the air before bedtime. I wish you both a long and happy future together.

I totally agree. As my mom always says "Dont go to bed angry, just make up". Or if it's too hard to just make up (if you are both stubborn), you can go with what my dad use to joke about. "Never go to bed angry, stay up all night and fight it out. By the morning you will realize that you both are complete idiots for ever fighting about something that most likely doesn't really matter"

A very open, honest and insightful video. Certainly not boring. And it's ok to be introspective and analyze. You appear to be really working at it which is good. At my age (70), I can't believe I watch you and love it. Reminds me of my 3 year gay relationship in college. It could have lasted forever but 50 years ago in small town midwest USA, it could not have lasted the social pressures. Our parting was very hard and sad. Fast forward, I married and my wife and I just celebrated our 45 anniversary with 2 daughters and 6 grandchildren. My best advice which I/we followed in both relationships is to find a good church to grow spiritually in. It has become the foundation of our marriage. It was why I knew my gay relationship could last forever given the cultural chance. Our daughter and soninlaw lived in NYC for 7 years and there are lots of good churches in NYC. Like looking for a job, be diligent and search one out, ie. Hillsong NYC. You won't regret it. It will get you through thick and thin. God Bless you both!!

and after 40 years and 6 houses later we are still in love and and would not change a thing.....there is a lot of give and take I must admit however ..........every thing is great after all this time.
As we get older and grey we still carry on with a smile and great appreciation for each other........ We do live in Australia maybe the life is easier here......So thank you for your vlogs

When I saw the Christmas at home with Jeff's family, I thought then this was just the natural progression in your relationship. I wish it well, you both seem very grounded and it will work. My husband and I have been together for 18 years, he's 42 and I'm 50 and it's still exciting. But no illusions, it takes working at it... Now, when do we get to take that tour of the apartment?

We moved together a year and a half ago! Since then our relationship grew exponentially!!!
Together we have achieved so much!
We did our first show together, Arif helped me (Ricky) to come out to my extended family; we went on National Television here in the UK as amateur chefs in a tv show; we built our brand (In Wonderland), we created our TH-cam Cannel and now we are the Ambassadors of IT GETS BETTER UK.
Everything because of that step forward that we have decided to take together a year and a half ago... and we would not change our lives for anything else in the World! :)

This is the best organic nature to things that can happen between two people. It does not happen that often so appreciate what you have in each other. Great couple its not a competition so relax about who cleans what. The sum needs to be more than the parts and it looks that way. Do you guys watch "steps of 2 foreigners" Bernardo and Adam? Watch how they take it so easy with each other
@gcjerryusc Yup watch these guys too -no intensity with either guy. They just enjoy having fun together. They were so happy to find each other. Life does not get much better for these guys.
You guys are so cute and funny together. My mother used to say "love is blind and marriage is an eye opener", you guys are so close to that marriage word. Can you tell me how many times Taylor rolled his eyes at a question/answer???(maybe 2). The only thing I would suggest is never let money become an issue or argument. I moved in with my boyfriend of 4 years and now we are together 22 years and married for 4 of those years. One secret is having two bathrooms, lol.Be honest and open to each other and never hide or lie. Honesty is the best policy. Good luck on your new place and looking forward to an apartment tour.
Interesting story on the journey to move in together. It was a lot of effort, but it appears it was worth it in the end. It is an adjustment when you move in with someone you love or involved with romantically. It is a life adjustment. You two are learning and communication is key. Honesty is also key as well. You two care about each other. You are addressing each others wants, needs, and lifestyles.
It wasn't boring at all. It was quite informative. Good advice, guys.
A WARNING! You two seem to do so well together and are very practical about solving differences...that's good. BEWARE though; the evil fog of selfishness or self-pity or even greed. It can slowly seep in relatively undetected when you start thinking about yourself and what you want and what you are investing in the relationship and what the other is or is not doing so as well. Each of you should focus not so much on self, but on the other and how to BE there for him and be open to letting him BE there for you. Don't take umbrage at little things (those are the most dangerous because you can use them to assume bigger things that they REALLY do NOT represent). And finally LOVE each other with all your heart. Love conquers all. If you really believe in each other's love you can get through just about anything. Just LOVE each other as your are, not as you would want the other to be but AS YOU ARE!
Take this from someone who has been with his partner for 30 years. Don't asked questions like those in front of other people. Keep those for when you just have some quite time alone. And really listen to what the other person is saying. Good luck to both of you. Also the best thing about living together is feeling that warm body next to you every night.
Congratulations, guys! Sounds like you're making it work just fine. My husband and I have been together since 1985. Eventually, after five years, we moved in together. It was the best thing we ever did.

me and my husband moved together 25 years ago, after dating for 18 months. Lots of hardship in the beggining not in a bad way but going through personalities differences adjustments, good and bad habits,
ours is more important than mine, etc,etc. Lots of stupid fights , some serious, but we've been managing
pretty well through all these years, still madly in love. Wish you a great life together.

It is good to see that you both are addressing items early on and getting to know about each other early on in living together as a couple. It's a difficult step but one that can be magical. The best thing you can learn about living together is to respect each other differences. When you get that down, the rest will flow more as each day passes. Don't make it a complicated and scary thing as long as you love each other.
My partner and I have been together for 11 years now, and living together for past 10 years, not going to lie at first it was super hard and we had to get used to each other, me coming from living alone and him moving from his parents, but over the years we have grown closer together. It takes time sometimes and sometimes it's easy. But, you have to make it work and sometimes compromise is your best friend just remember to be honest and open. Plus the age difference factored into some of it I'm 36 now and he is 32.

So, this is the first of your videos that I've seen. Love the talk and discussion on relationships that you've put forth. . . talking about the differences between friendships and living-together partners. . . . I'm "old" by younger people's standards and have never been in a relationship. So, this video was quite interesting. At one point you two talked about making time for each other vs friends and one of you mentioned that you still had a best friend. I always assumed that in a romantic relationship you were (or became) each other's best friend. So that's not exactly true? Anyway, I'm curious to see some of your other videos!
