Oddly enough, The Dark Knight Rises is actually my favorite of the trilogy. Partly because I found myself really invested in Bruce’s arc and the scenes with Alfred were heartbreaking especially when he admits how he was a father figure to him.
One advantage that Batman Begins has over TDK is focus. Batman Begins is told through Bruce perspective and we get to see his growth into the dark knight we all know. TDK tries to tells it's story through the perspective of three characters (Harvey, Gordon and Batman) plus give Joker more screen time, which affect the focus on Batman and his story arc.
Upon re-watching Batman Begins, I have to agree. I think Batman Begins is the best out of the trilogy, mostly because it feels more like a true Batman movie than the next 2, even though I really enjoy them. My favourite Batman movie is a tie between Mask of the Phantasm and The Batman (2022), can't decide which one
The "Dark Knight" Trilogy is my #1 Favourite Film Trilogy to date. I do think "The Dark Knight" is the one that takes the cake, but "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight Rises" are both very solid films, too. Also, I fully agree that it is more than OK and valid to prefer whichever one you want as your #1 favourite.
I actually have a similar attitude towards the "Toy Story" franchise. While many people think "3" is the best movie of the series, I actually find it to be my least favorite. It's very "meh". The biggest problem I had was that it was too busy; there was too much going on for a movie that I thought could have been simpler. I also wasn't satisfied with Lotso's defeat. After nearly getting the toy gang killed, he should have had a more brutal demise. I honestly think "4" was better, with "2" being my favorite in the entire series
While The Dark Knight is my favorite of the trilogy, as well as one of my favorite movies of all time, Batman Begins is still an excellent movie and arguably the best origin film for a superhero. Prior to Nolan's first movie, the only thing we see of his on screen origins is Bruce Wayne's parents being killed in ally, and that's it. Batman Begins fixes that by having us see him go on the journey of him becoming Batman while setting up the league of shadows, which make it shocking when we see that Ra's al Ghul is alive during the party at the Wayne manor prior to the final act.
I like all the entire Nolan Batman trilogy. Yes, that one includes “The Dark Knight Rises” as I thought it was a solid conclusion. I will always stick up for TDKR despite it not being perfect.

It's the same thing with Lord of the Rings Trilogy with the The Fellowship of the Ring
I’m a fan of both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight but The Dark Knight is one of my favorite movies.
How Double Dragon (1994) a 1990's Video Game Movie flop became a brief phenomenon after an airing on My Network TV In 2007

I personally prefer The Batman (2022) and Oppenheimer over The Dark Knight and Christopher Nolan's other Batman movies.

As an individual, The Dark Knight is a little superior than Batman Begins: I do think Batman Begins is great, but The Dark Knight is amazing.

My problem with Toy Story 3 was that it kind of rehased the plot of Toy Story 1 & 2 and it felt very tonally inconsistent to me.
