When Whitney Houston called Bobby Brown the King of R&B many years ago, people kind of made a joke out of it. However, for a period of time(1988-89), he was indeed just that. The Don't Be Cruel album didn't just go Gold or Plantium it went Diamond, with over 12 million sold worldwide. If you took the top 5 R&B singers at the time and combined their record sales during that time, it wouldn't have been 12 million. That album was a massive hit.
@@antonia2054 Ok, it was not a long run, but impact doesn't have to be. You do realize the album went Diamond, between 10-12 million in sales. It's ranked 82 on Billboard's ALL-TIME greatest album list. If you took the top 5 R&B singers at the time and combined their sales they didn't come close to Bobby Brown. He had the #1 selling album in 1989, New Kids on the Block was second. He sold 50 million records in his career as a solo artist. Real Brothers! Craft first, money next
There was a performance where Ricky was sick and unable to perform with BBD. So Bobby filled in for him. Not knowing the routines or NOTHING. Just the words to the songs and he held Ricky down. Seeing how BBD holding Bobby down in this performance is so dope. We must protect ALL MEMBERS of New Edition at ALL COST!!!!
Ricky Bell did that! Vocals! Salute Bobby Brown.
Huge for them to do a tribute to him. Proves that it’s all love and always will be.
Nothing like paying tribute to your brother who is still with us💪🏿💯 salute fellas!!
Ricky sounds like a smoother version of young b brown
Bro he got robbed of never getting a solo chance the dude could have made it on his own
@@aaronkincade8835 I agree ...he sings so well even today!
They sounded a lot alike when they were younger ...Ricky used to sing his parts
Why Mike started out sounding like Jay Z.. Bobby, you should know, your Brothers really love you..
I was thinking the same thing 😃😃😃
Mike sounds like Mike
Nobody else could have pull this tribute off better than BBD. I have nothing but love for these guys and Bobby Brown as well because they wrote the soundtrack to my life...
Glad to see my man Ricky gettin some credit in these comments... He killed “I’m still in love with you,” and “One more day” on the Home Again album. His voice has only gotten better!
Deandre It was always great though, just aged well now.
I loved “One more day”
That "One More Day" is an underrated Jam!!!!
Ricky super underrated
Absolutely flawless great tribute get your roses while you're alive so you can smell them
This was such a nice tribute to Bobby Brown. I know, he was touched beyond words to see his fellow band mates and friends give him this tribute. Great Job guys!! Love it.."King of R & B"..Bobby was the man back in the day..My family and I went to several concerts to see him perform. He was dope!!
The first OG of R&B, "BOBBY BROWN" His music is Timeless!
It's about time!!!!
Team Bobby Brown
This is definitely true talent without autotune. Fabulous voices and great human beings.
For: Bobby Brown
From: BBD ( Bell , Biv, DeVoe)
That was the ultimate. Bobby deserves it.
BLESSED BE TO ALL OF YOU.
C’mon Mr. Bell 🙌🏾👏🏾
He Betts sang....lol! He did that!
Bobby has been through so much, it's almost incomprehensible. So glad he has his brothers.
Ricky is doing his thing, holding it down! I love it!
Regardless of what they went through with Bobby over the years, I'm glad to see BBD put that aside and still showed him some love. Real friendship right their.
I was fortunate enough to see them ALL perform together in Las Vegas, back in 2012. They absolutely killed it! They cycled through all the leads & had a separate BBD portion at the end. Bobby announced his engagement to his wife to be at that show. Good times!
Ohhh I love their brotherhood. Damn..😘😁
These are feel good songs that will never get old
N.E.V.E.R!!!
Bobby has been through so much he can easily hold back tears but the emotion and appreciation is all over his face…
Bobby Brown , deserve to be honored because that album put his career as a single artist on the map and as a new type of music New Jack swing for Teddy Riley that album also made him 33 million dollars in one year . He did the damn thing with that album . 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Look at my era on stage killing it... Id see them in concert anytime, the voice, the moves they crushed it!!!!
I love Ricky's voice..... they held Bobby down with this tribute..... ❤❤❤❤❤
An era when music uplifted your heart and soul
Bobby was about to cry! Great tribute!
Ricky Bell killed it in this, so underrated as a vocalist.
Wow! Wish I was a back up dancer ..BBD killed as per usual...They will never ever put on a bad show...⚘
Awesome tribute. Band was tight and BBD was real 👊🏾
Ricky Bell is so underrated! Great job!
