STORY: Touch not the Outsiders, lest ye become an Outsider. But when two creatures belonging to opposite sides a lost little girl from the Inside and a demonic beast-looking Outsider initiate an impossible coexistence in the same corner of the forest, their bond seems to transcend their incompatible natures and the unnamed curse that has divided the world.

I was surprised when I saw this. It's just really one of those thing's that aren't really well known, I hope that more people know about this. The animation just really suits the art-style.
From what i can tell it's actually a pretty well known manga in Germany at least between people that actually know of the existance of manga which isn't many

@@margakyy9110 I had to find it on an "unofficial" website. I think it was mainly shown at film festivals so it's not really on any service or being sold as a Blu-ray. So you'd have to just search around.
Luckily it has no dialogue, so if you can find a raw version you won't miss out on it.

I would highly recommend the manga to anyone who liked Ancient Magus' Bride but wished there was less child grooming. The relationship is all wholesome father/daughter found family type shit. The story has mystery, sad bits, cute bits, and great art
I remember watching it when it was still a student project back in 2012 (I think). Loved the style and animation but after I read that they become lovers in the series, I decided not to continue. It's just very uncomfortable for me.

@@Wolfbitten14 I agree-maturity wise, they’re both about on par, in different ways. Elias may have knowledge, as far as their craft, but none of the underlying, conniving wisdom to inflict his control over Chise. Don’t get me wrong, he has his manipulative moments, but they’re not driven by a malicious intent to sexualize Chise; they’re more like the immature attempts of a child trying to keep someone/thing they like, but not having the knowledge on how to do it the way an adult or mature person would.
In short, he’s an old being in body only.

I'm glad that they're keeping the storybook animation style.
The manga always gave me that super old storybook and childhood vibe with the artstyle, and I'm SO RELIEVED they're keeping that with the old animation style that used to be popular, it's died out but this has brought it back with the moving watercolor shading looking like individual hand colored frames 😭😭👌👌

I can't even express how much I love this story. I own all the volumes and read them so many times and they never fail to give me so much happiness and joy. I truly believe this is somthing that more people should know about.

Before people start comparing this and the Ancient Magus Bride and them saying there's child grooming involved, please know that there is no child grooming involved whatsoever. People that form this kind of opinion about these two mangas are the people that only watched the first few episodes of the anime/read the first few chapters of the manga, and THEN formed this opinion. If they had continued on with the series, they would see that child grooming is not the case at all. They simply don't understand the characters and plot on the level that it should be understood, in order to fully grasp the relationship between the characters and what the story is really trying to tell us. I'm not saying you can't form your own opinions, just telling you guys that spreading these types of opinions that there's child grooming involved in the series' plot (which is untrue), is harmful to the show's reputation and very hurtful to the fans who ACTUALLY understand the purpose of the characters and what the series truly wants to portray. Thank you.
That seems to be the case. I only read 2 volumes of Magus but it felt child groomy. I read some replies that say it gets explained later and its a misunderstanding.
@@luizabianco While Elias did state his intentions to wed Chise shortly after their first meeting, the developments made since then have put them onto more firmly neutral ground. They do indeed feel a sense of love and compassion for one another, sharing several key moments of personal expression toward each other that exemplifies it, but at this moment it's definitely a blend of familial and platonic over anything romantic or sexual. Chise still has to contend with the inevitable issues that arise from Elias' many quirks and actions driven sometimes into outright detriment situations by his impulsivity and childish comprehension of his own emotions, but has as well learned to be aware of that fact and understand him and why he acts that way, just as Elias continues to take steps in learning to both comprehend his emotions and mature as a person at Chise's directive. They are still learning more about one another, and still growing as characters. If they are fated to be a romantic couple, it will be a plot cap built upon by years' worth of similar such continuous developments, none of which have yet been, and most likely will not be, spent on anything resembling grooming.
I wholeheartedly believe the Ancient Magus Bride is not a child grooming story. It's about two characters who think they know who they already are at the story's start, which leads them to each making a singular fateful decision on a whim (Chise selling herself into slavery under the idea that she's a cursed, worthless and miserable person, and hopes that she'll be of use to at least one person before she gives up on life, and Elias purchasing and intending to train Chise as a magus and eventually wed her based on his preconceived and grossly erroneous notions of human companionship and how it works), but after finding their paths crossing based on those whims, steadily learn more about themselves through their combined doings, shaping the folks and world around them and growing out of their nascent shells together as we the readers are taken into their mystical world.

I thought Chise was a young adult watching the show since it never really directed stated her age that I remember. After looking into it more.... she’s 16...
I think Elias & Chise have an adorable mentor/student relationship don’t get me wrong. However I did see them as somewhat romantic my first time watching under the impression Chise was a young WOMAN.
I have some very uncomfortable feelings now because Elias has stated with intention to eventually hopefully marry her. Granted even under the perception of her even being an adult that is weird but he never forced her hand and let the relationship form on its own. Now with the context he said that to a child... honestly I’m uncomfortable now..

Yeah I can see how Elias’s limited knowledge of how relationships work could lead him to the conclusion that thinking attempting to be engaged to a 16 year isn’t crossing a line.
And as I said before he never forced her hand and they let things naturally grow between them as a mentor/student relationship.
I’m still weirded but more in a neutral gray area after looking into some other viewpoints on the matter.
Man, first Wit Studio adapted a manga that involves a lost young girl and a horned, humanoid creature with a snazzy outfit (Mahoustukai no Yome/The Ancient Magus Bride) and now they're doing it again with an anime adaptation of a graphic novel that involves similar characters?

I saw the thumbnail and went "IS THIS WHAT I THINK IT IS?!" and omg it is! Although I don't know how this will go, I can say the manga is a gem! It's got a beautiful story, beautiful art, and the characters are all well written. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND!! I'm so excited that it's now getting it's own film:) short or not!

This author always uses innocence in children to convey messages and catalyze the plot. So happy this is finally getting animated’

Recommendations on TH-cam are really strange and cool thing, I didn't even know that the manga "Mitsuami-no-kami-sama"/"The Goddess Mitsuami"/"The Goddess With Braided Hair"/"Pigtails" was animated by your studio, because in my country this manga, as well as "The Girl From The Other Side" (although not so much), is not very well known, but they are both one of my favorite manga. Your art style is amazing, I don't see any difference between it and the original works, it was done very well and the atmosphere of the original is already conveyed in the trailer, thank you for your work, I'm waiting for the anime!! It's been out for months
Its been a few years since I've felt legitamently enchanted and whimsical by a simple trailer.
The manga was absolutely beautiful and I 120% recommended reading!
I hope this gets a full series, the Manga is so good and deserves more recognition. Also that ending for the series😭. I hope they keep that sane vibe for the end of any future anime, even if they choose to change it slightly, leave it ambiguous like the manga

It’s sadly just ganna be a Short Film, which is still great! Also Just an Fyi, Anime production usually doesn’t effect Chapter releases, unless the Mangaka Is directly working on the series. Which I believe they aren’t for this one.

Naah it's just the look of the monster guy, the story and characters are very unique and different. But I get it, why you could think that.

i found the manga of this years ago at my library, and I always enjoyed it but couldn’t finish it because they never stocked it. I never thought that they were going to animate it because of the art style but i’m so glad they are, very excited as a long time fan!!
I read the manga (if I could call it so) a pretty long time ago, but I didn't have many memories of it. And now, its animation adaption is unexpectedly recommended on TH-cam’s algorithm. Probably this is what people call “fate”.

What’s currently out of this Series is a short 10 minute video but it’s absolutely beautiful and the animation is so clean. There is no voice acting but I think it makes the visuals even better as everything going on is expressed through animations and the actions of the characters. Due to its non anime art style I was able to show a friend who is a non-anime fan and she loved it. Although short it’s worth a watch. I personally enjoyed it.
Also I suggest checking out the manga it’s a pretty decent story,
