    I have lived until my adulthood without knowing that people have built such a complex machine just to make subways.

    And after it's done, how do they put the trains underground? Do they use electricity or some kind of a fuel? How fast does it go exactlу? How do people get qualified to drive a subway? Are there ones just for practice??? I have so many questions

  • @bee5120

    Do they do spot tests first to see if they're digging through pipes or underground wiring? What if they dig into an open underground cave?

    This isn't always the case you know. This is how MODERN subways are built, not ALL subways. NY Subway and Philadelphia lines were built using cut and cover. the dug a hole, redirected the utility pipes/lines, built the tunnel and station, put on a roof, restore the pipe and then cover it all back up. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/15th_Street_station_(SEPTA)#/media/File:15th_Street_SEPTA.JPG. Clearly a cut and cover station. which is why the poles are holding the road up.

    • @TheRailLeaguer
      @TheRailLeaguer 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Kevin Howard Most of the subway was constructed with cut and cover, with some lines built as an elevated.
      The newest subway segments were constructed with a tunnel boring machines to reduce surface disruptions.

      @@RababaInc unless you don't use your mind you can understand from even the thumbnail itself. The time thing in the front rotates while moving forward cutting all the dust, think of those fancy kitchen appliances where you put a carrot and it comes out shredded. And as shown in 1:00 the dust is sent backwards so it can keep on moving.
