I love and hate this game. Every time I’m the killer there are at least 40 pallets across the map, and every time I chase the survivor no matter where they go there’s always one waiting for them, but when I’m the survivor I go to the same locations, and there’s nothing like WTF!
Yes, DBD is a strange game, but it's all we have. Nobody wants a better DBD, I see. They say "WE WANT COMPETITION! WE WANT DBD TO BE GOOD!" but when we get a better DBD, we hate on it and move on. Oh well! I still have hopes for VHS.
Worth saying that most of the tips for what floor the hatch can be on, can be summed up as "it's always on a level that has nothing accessible below it." Thank you for the video, very helpful!
Used to be, if you had a key, you could see the hatch (closed) if the number of survivors killed = the number of gen remaining. My understanding is that they removed it. Now the key is only for after the killer find and close the hatch. It is now even more difficult to be in a situation where you can use the damn thing.
@@MindbenderTTV so as someone who started playing a few months ago, I watched older videos of people playing, and just wasted a lot of keys wondering why the hell could I not ever see the hatch until it opened by itself.
*ok - i love the vid thanks for clarifying things.* * 1 thing to add is that on the map of Badham Preschool, obviously there is always another level, another floor below ground level. The basement could spawn in that lower floor. Or the basement can spawn by the shack. *Anyways, it's a little confusing to explain,* but the hatch can spawn below the ground floor under the school. But probably not if the killer basement is there. I cant remember if the killer basement was there when it spawned by the gen/mattress but probably not.
Yes, it can spawn down there with the basement, but on the drop down point. Pretty sure it doesn't spawn next to Freddy's bed if the basement is in main.
Nice info thanks learned alot but I must disagree with rule13 I had a bubba forbidding me from exiting an open gate right in front of me. Out of pure luck the exit gate spawned right next to me don't know how but yes hatches will appear near exit gates
hatch will never spawn on top or in the killers basement. a few rules later: hatch will spawn in the basement if it's a house. HELLO WHO MADE THESE RULES??
Hey @Iron helmet, Thank you for the suggestion. As new killers are released, I will create videos that are specific to those killers. The video will provide more information about the killer, including lore and power explaination, not only tips on how to counter them, so subscribe to see them as soon as they are posted. At the moment, I already have a video about countering all current killers on my channel, so check it out if you didn't already. :) At the moment, I am trying to focus on basic guides for new and intermediate survivors, since I noticed a ton of new players on Epic Games, even though the players went down of Steam. Take care, Mindbender
Keys are stupid. If a teammate see you brought a key or found a key and if you get hook they won't save you at all because they want the key or if they see you injured and you ask for heal, they will purposely mess up trying to heal you so you make a noise and keep on messing up till killer comes so you get down and they run away and once you get hook best believe they be hiding in the nearest locker or corner till you get sacrifice to steal your key or people with left behind perk they won't save you because they want the hatch to spawn so badly so they can escape through the hatch and never work on gens. Same goes with key holders. They won't do gens because they waiting till enough gets done till hatch spawn so they can look for it while you doing gens.
Umm... you need to show them this video. Keys are useless 99% of the time to escape. Now people use it for the aura reading. I will be honest, this never happens to me and I go for an iridescent key with killer aura reading and bonus duration on my chase build from time to time.
@@MindbenderTTV yes to me keys are useless. I never use it. I know alot people upset with the new update sine the hatch won't spawn till the last person left and you know people always like to tbag at the exit gate till the time almost up. So by then it you won't evercgave time to find it or escape it
@Kyra Or they will keep unhooking you right next to a killer. I had my first key, wanted to use it, killer kept chasing me as soon as he spotted me up on legs. That was understandable, but Meg kept on saving me instead of doing something else and coming when the killer was somewhere.
I have noticed that when you are the last one remaining there is a short period of time before the doors open and I can see the logo of the hatch during the short period but once the doors open the logo disappears. what does that mean? Can both the hatch and the doors be available ways to escape for the last survivor or does the hatch close when the doors open?
The logo appears only when the hatch is open, so when there is one survivor remaining. The logo disappears when the killer closes the hatch. If there is at least 1 gen left, your only means of escape is the hatch. If the exit gates have been powered and others left or died, both options exits. If there are 2 or more survivors remaining, only the exit gate is an option. You can take the hatch even if your teammates managed to escape and you are the last one left.
i've encountered the hatch spawning in a few of the same places on certain maps, but i can't find a video that talks about this. do you know if the spawn locations are completely rng and this was just a coincidence, or if there are a handful of set spawns for each map?
It was just your luck. It is technically a pseudorng, since it is somewhat controlled by the rules I told you in the video, except on RPD, which is special. On RPD, you have to pray to RNGsus. We don't have the data, but most likely there are 30+ spots on each map where the hatch can spawn. The larger the map, the higher the spots.
Hi, thanks for this video it was very helpful. Also, in regard to rule #13, maybe it's different now or it was a bug, but a few months ago I was watching a friend play and the hatch actually spawned right outside of the exit gates, like if you were running toward the gate and somehow didn't see it you could fall in, it was crazy, I've never seen that before or since😅
Hey! Thanks for letting me know! If it was on RPD, then it can happen. Like I said, it can spawn anywhere. If it wasn't on RPD, then most likely it was a bug.
No, only if you have the perk Left behind from Bill you can see the red lines. You look for the hatch itself. The red outline just allows you to see it through walls. Once you have it in your line of sight, the red line disappears. In-game, this red line mechanic is called "aura".
does the rule of the hatch spawning when the number of survivors is one number above the number the generators ? because i tried to use the key to look for it whenever there are 4 survivors and 3 gens left and i still couldn't find it
Hello! The hatch spawns only when there is one survivor remaining, as told in the video. The hatch used to spawn like you said, but the hatch and keys were nerfed in a fairly recent patch.
@Syrine Ben hassine I'm pretty sure it worked like this: If the number of gens done is higher than the amount of survivors alive the hatch will spawn. You did 3 gens? You need to have 2 people killed, so there are max 2 people remaining. You have 3 survivors alive? The gen number on your screen must be 1 or less (4 gens need to be done, so 5-4=1). (gens done ≠ gens left) But they nerfed it.
That used to be the old hatch when all the gen are done the hatch spawns regardless of how many survivors are alive, but hatch got nerfed along with keys recently.
It can spawn in it's proximity, depending on how the tiles shift, but it is a rare occurance. Usually if the shack is next to the gate and it spawns at the shack. In 95% of cases, it can spawn at least 8-16 meters away from the edges of the map. The exit gate is at the edge of the map, so it counts like that. There are 3 exceptions, but like I said, they are so rare, you don't need that info. Since the hatch nerf, it is harder to find the hatch. Relying on it for escape, unless you burned an offering, is hopeless most of the time. What I meant by what I said in the video is that you cannot walk on it while passing the exit gate threshold to enter the room before the "finish line".
We want to know how to FIND the dang hatch when we are the last survivor... not the literal code of the game... What perks ect... let you find hatch... epic fail!
Hatch is the dumbest game mechanic ever, it's completely survivor sided, and is based on RNG you can play flawlessly as killer and still not 4k when you should because of it, but survivors generally suck at vidya games, so they need every crutch imaginable, anyone can clearly see the "type" of people that play survivor, whether they want to admit it or not it's clearly there YWNBAW survivors never.
As a survivor main, I feel insulted. Yes, the hatch is based on RNG. It was severely nerfed. If you play flawlessly, you can slug one person while chasing the last one. If you are good enough, you finish the chase quickly and the slug has not moved too far. I consider the hatch a reward for the best player in the match. I almost always give hatch, unless the survivor team was toxic. You have to understand that killers are more powerful and move faster than survivors. I don't like tunneling, camping and slugging, and BT, DS and Unbreakable counter that. I cannot consider a skillful player a killer that tunnels or camps a person or does a 4 player slug at 4 gens. They ruin the fun of survivors. I do believe, even as a survivor main, that Dead Hard should have the damage immunity removed and Circle of Healing to be reworked into something else. Maybe only a 20% increase on altruistic healing and the ability to self care at 50% speed. The rest of the boons are not OP at all, if you are decent at chases and you don't slug. If you juggle at least 2 survivors back and forth, you don't need to eat a DS. If you are good at chases and down a survivor within 30 seconds, you will 4K. If the survivors are efficient, bring gen regression perks like Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance, Pop Goes The Weasel, Deadlock and Deadman's Switch. When I play killer, I play nurse. I rarely have issues and I always score at least a 2K with everyone else on death hook, without tunneling, camping or slugging. At most, I slug a person when they are under the pallet and there is a survivor nearby. I usually only bring aura reading perks, but recently I am trying out a hex build with Ruin, Undying, Haunted Grounds and Thanatophobia because I didn't get Devour Hope yet. If I would bring a hybrid build with gen regression and info perks (SHPN, Pop, Call of Brine and BBQ), I 4K before there are 1-2 gens left, even against a great SWF team with prove, toolboxes, dead hard, bt, ds etc. Of course, the game is sweaty, but it works. I think you just need to get better at killer and start taking responsability for your mistakes. If a team gets a 4 man out it means that you did something wrong or MMR did its job at providing a horrible experience. In my opinion, only midhigh to high tier killer players can have a decent time playing killer. I hope you don't get offended by my reply. I just want to help. Everyone in DBD should have fun, not only one side. =)
