All the electronics, especially panoptix, allow you to find fish that you would otherwise never find. I am fishing individual trees on Sam Rayburn that have probably never been fished. It allows me to very consistently catch crappie. All the bait I use is artificial jigs...no live bait. I am a very experienced fisherman and Im here to tell you that livescope was a game changer for crappie fishing for me. I caught them before but panoptix increased the quality and efficiency of my fishing. Im older and a little crippled up and don't have the stamina to fish all day any more. Pan optix has given me back my passion for fishing !!! God speed and once you learn how to use the panoptix, you will love it! Andy

My take on the LS is similar to Dee Crappie/People's Champ now BUT as time progress with all the hoopla from my fishing buddies/You-tube etc, I'm slowing moving to Bondo's side of the fence. I've purchased the LS twice in the last two years but returned it each time after a 30/90 trial run; IMO IT'S JUST NOT WORTH $$2500$$. Being a Computer Tech, I truly understand the power of having the right pieces of technology "which is another tool" that's needed to catch fish. Great dialogue about Livescope. I’m with Bondo. Just because you can see the fish doesn’t mean you can catch them. Livescope has never put a fish on the hook. I got mine last year and I don’t catch any more fish than I did without it. If you can’t catch em without it you won’t be able to catch em with livescope. You can certainly find them with it. It provides much more intel on fish behavior, allows for more efficient time on the water and yes MUCH MUCH better for open water scouting. WORTH EVERY PENNY. And yes I want it easier. 😂 Just my opinion.

Livescope is a "Tool" Just like Spot Lock, MSI & MDI on that Solex, Upgrades were made NOT because fish weren't being caught BUT so.eone wanted to make things EASIER on themselves! One can't appreciate it for open water fish but dislike it otherwise and if so the unit has a POWER BUTTON lol. Let me end with this! As a tournament crappie fisherman livescope is just another tool to add to the arsenal! I completely agree with the champ you still have to be able to catch em! It makes me more efficient on the water.
Man i will be the first to dive in.... You fish all over texas and beyond same with me and Crappie Catz. We were all for the hunt bro but then again after you gas up your truck, gas up the boat, get snacks, restock bait, make arrangements with the misses or significant other, get on the water only to get held by one pile all day hoping fish are holding the pile on top of that biting! I equate it to these hunters that put out feeders, cameras, 5 star deer blinds with climate control...is that still hunting?? lol Livescope just takes out the guessing. In a certain way I agree with Dee because with the new use of sonars like livescope it takes the guesswork out of fishing now. This is a true story about a year ago I was fishing one of my favorite lakes here in Florida and I saw a guy with the live scope fishing for Crappie and I also saw a guy with just a Jon boat with a 9.9 and three fishing poles and a cooler in his boat and the guy in the Jon boat out fished the high-tech boat four to one. Why was this so the guy in the Jon boat knew the pattern of the crappie he knew what they wanted and he knew what depth they were in the guy with the live scope was trying to figure it out so the guy in the John boat had his limit and was gone within 30 minutes to where the guy with the live scope was still out there. I have to ask this question are we fishing or looking at TV this will be like being in a helicopter and shooting live wild boars or using night vision and shooting wild boars but to each his own if you like using the livescope do you but me I'm a Hunter that likes to hunt his prey. If I do get a live scope and once I start tournament fishing I will use it for scouting but the day of the tournament I would not use it because I feel that is too much of an advantage towards other fishermen, and I feel when the tournament director ask you have you cheated I must say live scope basically may have a little cheating to it.
Last week biggest tournament on dale hollow lake in tennessee where I live ....the winner was one of only 3 boats to have livescope ......the other 100 plus anglers did not have it ....so there is a justified argument when it comes to tournament fishing .....

If everyone hates stuff being too easy....Why not everyone go back to horse and carriage to get around in ? Why not give our military swords and shields to fight wars? Harold has live scopeone his boat and when I'm on the boat with him I always ask how deep he's marking them because I'd rather not use live scope. In fact I love fishing out of my kayak weigh more than I do fishing out of a boat especially for croppie so I honestly feel like it's more fish out of my kayak without logical then I do on a boat with life coat probably because I just don't like live scope. I don't like the color of the screen or any of that and I don't even know how to fully use my electronics well because I grew up very old school casting and using a countdown method to how deep to fish were then retrieving through them to pick them off. I agree with Dee. Livescope takes the sport out of fishing. I grew up with my father and learned how to track/locate crappie, learn their patterns and coerce them to bite. It is a great feeling to catch a mess of crappie that way. Honestly, I would be afraid to get livescope out of fear it would diminish my love for fishing. And yes, I agree that it is like video game fishing. Just my opinion, of course.
You still have to catch the fish even if you see them on live scope. Live scope is just a tool like spot lock or side scan. Nothing wrong with that. People may have been saying side scan should not be used when it first came out. But bottom line is it’s just a tool and people that have it should not be looked down upon in my opinion.

It is a great feeling to catch a mess of crappie that way. Honestly, I would be afraid to get livescope out of fear it would diminish my love for fishing. And yes, I agree that it is like video game fishing. Just my opinion, of course.

If you want a live scope go for it. If going with a regular fish finder I recommend hummingbird the clarity and detail is unmatched.
It’s a huge advantage. You will get it one day.

You still have to catch the fish even if you see them on live scope. Live scope is just a tool like spot lock or side scan. Nothing wrong with that. People may have been saying side scan should not be used when it first came out. But bottom line is it’s just a tool and people that have it should not be looked down upon in my opinion.

I've out fished 90% of crappie fishermen with livescope in my neck of the woods and I don't run any electronics but my trolling motor..
