I recently went to Costco with my daughter and we spent 900.00 dollars. When I got to the car I checked my bill as I always do and found they had charged me twice for 2 items totaling 46.00. I went back into store and they corrected this. So check you bill every time.
As a person who worked at Kimberley-Clark I know a few things about tissue. Tissue is all the same: softique, Kleenex, store brand, pharmacy brand, if made by Kimberly-Clark it all has fabric softener in it and there’s no difference.
I shop at costco but the guys checking the receipt don’t really check the carts. They just glance at it and swipe the receipt. Stevie Wonder can find more discrepancy on my receipt than those guys.
I’m lost and confused. After he’s says that we may think receipt checking is to see if you paid, he goes on with a buy/don’t buy list. What the real reason then? Did I miss something?
It's a no brainer why they and Walmart check receipts. In fact I think it's illegal because you can sue if accused of shoplifting and no evidence found. I am curious what will happen if I tell a Walmart worker who is not even a cop to F/O. It's criminal what they do.

What they didn't mention in this video is that they're auditing the cashier when they check your receipt. If you get under charged or over charged, it gets logged down. The cashier gets in trouble for it after so many reoccurrences and/or if it's over a certain $ amount.

It is to make sure that the Cashier didn't miss anything when checking out. Telling us what to buy or not to buy, that is our decision, we don't need anybody telling us.........
I don't agree with your thoughts on Costco Tire Centers. Suggest you do some price comparisons with Discount Tire who can beat Costco hands down and has a much better selection.
Very simple why they check your receipt. They put a mark on it so that you can't go out and put the stuff in your car, then go back and get the same items and use the same receipt. Plenty of thieves out here.

Costco, like other large chain operations that sell bulk quantities, 3rd party purchases most of their Kirkland products. That means that you are buying name brand products with a Kirkland label. Without knowing where Costco is buying their laundry detergent from, comparing it against Tide and saying that Tide is superior is like saying Keebler cookies are superior to Kellogg cookies.

I've had to throw out a bunch of sheets and clothes because of Tide. Been buying Kirkland laundty pods for 3 years never an issue. Covid-19 kept me away from shops. So i was forced to buy tide. Never again I can go through a 15lb sack of potatoes in 5 days.
Like everything else it depends on the vitamins. Many of Kirkland vitamins are good values according to consumerlab, the tester of pill potency. Sometimes they have even recommended walmart brand over costco.

My revenge for being charged once a year to spend my money in there shop no matter what advantages I get. I also check ingredients before I make a choice of product. For me costco is not an investment it's a way to get away from the ghetto goddesses that infest wallmart and my local grocery stores. It's becoming hard to justify the 120 usd I pay in membership fees given that on most occasions the amount of time I spend in line is more than the time it takes to gather the merch I want. It's a real disappointment. It's like they know they don't have to try anymore.
This video is very disappointing. The video makes no sense and when switching topics from the receipt to buy and don't buy had absolutely no transition. It even made me think that I clicked on another video accidentally. I also prefer the other narrator because the newer one sounds drowsy and doesn't give the video the spirit it needs.

The reason, the stores are big and busy and it's not always easy for employees to see exactly where someone trying to leave came from. With three people you could easily get away with stealing a bunch of stuff. Two people load up carts with identical items. The first one goes through the line and pays. As soon as they exit they hand the receipt to the third person waiting outside who quickly goes in and passes it off to the person with the other cart. That person bypasses the registers and walks out. If stopped, they show the receipt that has all the items in their cart on it. Unless someone notices what was going on or payed close attention to the time stamp on the receipt they will assume everything is correct. Worse, the thieves could then use the receipt to return items to try and get their money back while keeping the duplicate items. But if someone marks the receipt, then it will be immediately obvious that a receipt has already been used which will bring it to the attention to the stores loss prevention who will most certainly start checking cameras to see if the second cart did indeed pay for their merchandise or not.
After listening to this I think I wasted my time...I still don’t know why receipts are checked...what a waste

Some condiments don't need to be refrigerated once opened. Ketchup and mustard are often left in pumps at restaurants.
Costco does charge for tire installation. They only carry 3 brands. And they are also premium brands which means they are more expensive.

The Kirkland Laundry Detergent is actually quite good. Never had an issue with it.
Costco Canada does not carry VitaWrap anymore, only Kirkland brand and the packaging is very poor.
