  • In Australia, we have to test all flow switches and test solenoids every six months to comply. The solenoids must activate & stop. The flow switch must send flow signal to the fire indicating panel... then to EWIS to start the evacuation process.

    Running the pump " manually " every time you test a flow switch to bring the pressure back up ... that's the dark ages , let the jockey pump do it automatically ( unless in Australia they have their own fire code regarding testing ) also, do you keep a record of time activation of the every flow switch ?

    This is awesome info. I assume that faults in the system can trigger a false alarm?

    • @fireprotectionguy7943
      @fireprotectionguy7943  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fault is just a fault but If the flow switch activated (false activation) without losing pressure in the installation, it will create an EWIS activation and then it cascades. It won't call the fire brigade thou but the building will be in full evacuation. That's the sad part, residents shall be scratching their heads why no fire brigade is coming. It happened to one of my sites before but good thing is I was able to find the problem due to history log. Thnxs Mate.

    Hi, I don't know why you need to start manually the pump to increase pressure, it is not automatic?, or the pressure drop was not enough to activate the pump? thank you

      I just do it to quicken the job. It does run automatically.

    Hello sir where the waters flow in that area? Did you you drain it? Because the pressure is 1500psi

    • @fireprotectionguy7943
      @fireprotectionguy7943  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There a drain pipe from level 19 (first solenoid and flow switch line) all the way to the sprinkler valve room. It's painted black.

    They joky pump should compensate automatically for the drop in your pressure right?

    • @fireprotectionguy7943
      @fireprotectionguy7943  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sprinkler system with assisted pump to maintain required pressure has no auto jacking pump. Auto jocking pump is only installed to restore loss pressure due to unknown reason. It's not suppose to be use in replacement to a diesel or electric pump mover.

    Flow switch is installed wrong, it should be always on horizontal pipe on top of the pipe. Regards.

    Sir,can you help me ? We need to siren alarm to be started when flow switch gives signal to the panel (wt6500)

    • @fireprotectionguy7943
      @fireprotectionguy7943  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am failiar with WT6500. But the basic wiring of flow switch is just how you wire a switch light. If your output is the siren, then the flow switch should be connected normally open (conventional system). If your system panel is programmable, it will be easier. Designate a conventional zone to your flow switch and your output in alarm will be the siren.

    What is the causes of water flow switch keep alarming?

    • @fireprotectionguy7943
      @fireprotectionguy7943  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Active Flow switch indicates water flow. Flow switch identifies the location where sprinkler head burst. No water flow.. some flow switch reset itself..the others , you need to reset it from the Fire panel or EWIS to clear the indication.

    Ang delikado lang at maiwasan ang big issue? Kapag habang nasa area biglang magkaroon general alarm... Kaya very important na inform ang fire department Lalo na kung ang area ay naka connect ang alarm signal sa fire department... Naku experience kona yun Ang mapa punta ang Fire Truck, Fire Chief at Ambulance at sasabihin mo Sorry 😂😂😂

    • @fireprotectionguy7943
      @fireprotectionguy7943  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totoo yan. I was doing a test before and then suddenly an unknown alarm activated. I-hold the alarm and ran to the area. Found out it was a burned toast. Luckily, the system is isolated otherwise it cost $1,560.00 per truck charges from fire brigade.
