They had the previous version on sale recently for $39.99 so I bought several of the old cam up. Can get the same privacy cover for the old cams as well for a $9.99 if you needed that. Personally I just turn off the cams if I do not want them recording. All mine are plugin to power strips simple switch off takes them off line.
I doubt theyll ever do it but it would be nice to have a micro sd card. Privacy cover is nice but idk how having 6 original cameras if it would worth the upgrade just for that? Maybe if they had an upgrade system.

I would love to see onboard storage on Ring cameras. They’re doing it on the Car Cam, so they’re very capable of doing it.
So the only real difference is a privacy cover? Still no 4K or even 1440p
Best I can tell from the specs, that’s correct. Hard to say if the image is improved until we get some real world testing.
I got two for 50 bucks the other day. They were a deal of the day.

After three years, they simply added flimsy cover. No camera upgrade at all. Pathetic. The competition has quadruple the resolution.
