I have a large area of lawn and "Luber" works for me very well by doing a section every day.
I'm on my third season with my EGO 56volt lithium battery electric lawn mower, and I love it! The charge lasts long enough to do front and back yard, and the front again, but if it needs re-charging, it does it in 1/2 an hour. I just got the string trimmer that takes the same battery-lots of power! The mower came with a bagger, and attachments for mulch mowing or side-discharge. There is also a ride-on available for a considerable amount of money. I paid a
under $500. for it. there is also a self-propelled for a little more. I researched battery mowers, and this is the best.

My grandpa had one 18/20 years ago! He had a big garden and it worked quite well even then. It was funny to see it going back in the docking station. It was not that digital then, you have to run some wire around the garden. (or something like that)
And how ridiculous it's become that the majority of people feel they have to have EVERY DAMN THING in their lives linked to their stupid "smart' phones. It's nuts. Just nuts.

These mowers have been for sale for thirty some years ..... I used to drive service and I only seen 1 or 2. My whole lifetime!!! out mowing yards.... ... .. . . . . . I've seen them for sale. The name hydraulics comes into mind ... period .. !! So here we go .. There's tons of China craP t for sale out there. But then the thing I'm talking about. I don't believe that it was from China.
My brother bought me an expensive cordless electric mower. My yard isn't that big. Have to charge it 2-5 times to finish the yard. Self propulsion broke within 3 months. Has been in shop for 2 months waiting for parts. I have a Central Park riding mower from Central Hardware. Works great after over 37 years of service. Only problem is finding wheels for it
Sounds like Rural King and their finishing mower for 3 point hitch , they work good till bearings go out , then NO WAY TO GET THE PARTS,cause they don't produce or sell then, A TOTAL WASTE OF $

My father worked for Detroit Edison. So, we had an electric lawn mower. This was in 1960. But, it was a lot faster, because it was a push mower with a one hundred foot extension cord. I was only 12 at the time. I got very good at working with that cord. I would get the end of my run and flip the nandle to change direction and give the cord whip action. That would cause the cord to move approximately the width of my cut. And I'd get to the end again and repeat the process. It was quiet to, and worked very well. I used it for two years. After which time my father died. And we were forced to move. And i never did know what happened to that mower. It was a head of its time.

My grandparents had an electric mower. It was in SF. I used it and cut the grass a few times.

Hopefully you can get your money back Scotty. My disabled sister bought a powersmart push mower for my husband to use up by her house, was only used three times and the handle bars broke off at the bottom, I have tried my best to get replacement bar or a replacement mower, still under warranty. Some of these companies are such frauds!!!

I am in Kentucky and I have a bigger and a more complex lawn than Scotty, and I have had a Luba lawnmower for several months now and has largely been working fine. The first couple weeks is a steep learning curve, and unless you’re willing to put in some time and probably redo the circumference a time or two until you figure it out it is a pain. He is right it is very slow. However, I routinely mow my lawn when I am at work so even though it takes it 12 hours to mow my 1 acre front lawn, it takes me zero time. I will agree that it isn’t quite ready for prime time, but so far works well for me. The battery actually last one to two hours, depending on the thickness of the grass.
same, I have one and its been working great.
I have one too and it works great. Heavy tree cover is a problem for them since that interferes with the GPS signal, so they're not suited for lawns with heavy tree cover. I still need to mow the perimeter of my lawn and bust out the weed whacker every now and then, but the robot does 99% of the work and has been a godsend during the summer heat.
Quite a nice lawn you have Scotty…very happy for you coz you are a good man and thoroughly deserve best things in life.

It's a nice concept. Wouldn't throw 3 dollars at it while it performs like that.
Questions to ponder: Once bugs get worked out, how will it handle grass that's slightly wet with dew Or pop-up, sun shower weather, quirky sprinkler systems?
As soon as you said it needs an app to function, my red flags starting being raised.

An old friend of mine told me once “No one real leaves good reviews, people only leave reviews when they are pissed off” so look for a lack of bad reviews with more weight. Or lack of reviews at all.
Robotic lawn mowers suck *BUT* electric lawn mowers make perfect sense these days, I love my 48V Ryobi RM480e ride on lawn mower. Clocked 200hrs use now and on 4th year, probably still have about 75% battery life left.
Great for our 8 acre rural property.
Only things that broke was 1 headlight and the key barrel which Ryobi fixed for free and even came out to my house to repair, can't complain with that.
It also just uses 4x 12v lead acid batteries, so when they eventually need replacing i can buy them from anywhere, they're not proprietary Ryobi batteries which is consumer friendly.
Smaller battery powered home use stuff makes sense now, but EV battery cars are still dumb though.

I am picking up lawnmowers that people toss out when they buy their electric replacement. They will be looking for an old gasoline lawnmower before long.
Or just replace the battery every couple of years!
I watched a tech TH-camr try out an electric lawn mower and he had pretty much the same results (with the exception of climbing trees) he also kept having to move the GPS transmitter too. but his solution (being a tech guy) was to wifi the neighbourhood! a missed opportunity, Scotty should of did the "That's your home" scene from happy Gilmore! 😂
they shut down the Briggs and stratton plant in west kentucky to make way for THIS type of junk.

A friend was given an cordless electric mower free. Wont cut his lawn! I think It was given to him because it did not work for the previous owner........
I have a corded 17” B&D mower. It’s not strong. It’s made for people who are retired and have all day to cut grass.
With a free mower as a hint to cut his lawn and he still won't, working or not does it matter.!!! ???
I have two Worx Landroid mowing my difficult terrain for almost 3 seasons and I couldn't be happier.

I bought a Luba in April and its been cutting my grass since then. Maybe Scotty got a bad one as my Luba cuts a lot longer than 15 minutes per charge. I do agree it is slow but it only has one job to do so i don't care.

Thanks for the review, Scotty. Been using Ego walk behind electric mower for the past five years, no issues at all, except for the expected battery degradation. If battery is properly managed, it will live long. As for these robot mowers, there are versions that use LIDAR. It'd be great if those are reviewed, because they don't use GPS, so trees are not an issue.

I had a Briggs & Stratton powered lawnmower the lasted for 18 years until it rusted out from the bottom. Stick with the old stuff. I enjoy mowing with my headphones on for music

The electronics cost. I have an Ego electric mower, and I love that thing. I have a third of an acre of grass, it does it fine on one charge. It’s quiet, and in the summer I do lots of my mowing late, when it’s cool. Got the headlights, no problem. Takes me half an hour. Granted, I have to do it, but I just put a podcast on the headphones, and walk my yard for half an hour. It’s generally pretty nice as an experience. I’m 4 years in on that mower. The only complaint I have is the blades are thin, so I have to sharpen it a couple times a season. But they are also cheap, so I have a few so I have one ready to go and swap it out in 5 minutes when I have to do that.
They came out with electric mowers with remote controls!! Goes 3 MPH so much faster $3,900.00 and takes batteries! But it cuts very well! And wasn’t razor blades!
Auto rebuild just did one on his channel with remote controlled one.

I'm sticking with my push-reel mower. They should trick them out... I'm not interested in running high-tech batteries; I own a pedal bike. A push reel mower employs a rotating blade and a cutting surface, no mulch thrown, no dust kicked-up. I take care of the blade with oil, steel-wool, and a honing stone.
I think it's his other home in Rhode Island.
I bought a high dollar rechargeable electric mower, followed all the directions. First use it mowed 10ft and quit. I took it back.

I’m sure Toyota and Lexus make them robotic lawnmowers with cameras, speed limiters and have a OB2 port so you can see if there are any codes that need clearing.
I’ve had 3 ride on mowers 4x4 and 4 wheel steering version pto etc all better than John Deere not Chinese made but good U.K. made great mowers Westwards. Had a Mountfield made in USA utter rubbish needed to change both belts at least twice a year as they were always being chewed up. John Deeres had engine problems, needed to be taken apart and rebuilt found out crankshafts were badly balanced. You’re better off with a Honda.

Husqvarna has been selling reliable automowers for over 20 years. Yes they have boundary and guide wires, but they provide years of low maintenance rock solid operation if setup correctly.

If you want an electric lawnmower, get a corded one that you don't need to worry about running out of charge. Or get a gas powered mower and not worry about snagging cords.
I had a corded electric mower back in the 1980’s. I spent more time fighting the stupid cord than actually cutting. Not much power for longer grass. 1988, I bought a gasoline mower and never looked back. By the time you get done with this dumb thing, the grass will grow back and you’ll have to start again.

In Poland I saw a robot lawn mower cutting the grass at Wawel Castle in Krakow, but it was commercial grade. It was the size of a little tractor. Looked like it was doing a pretty good job.

I've seen one of them 2 years ago when landscaping a house. I thought it was a kids toy until the owner of the house told me no, its cutting grass. Dude was rich also he had three of them. His yard was huge.
$3000 you can hire a kid to mow your yard for years

Have a Nueton cordless push mower. Had it over 10 yrs. Replaced battery once. Great electric mower.
I didn't really need a review video to tell me a robot mower was stupid, that knowledge came naturally to me. For what that costs, I can pay the lawn service we use for two years, get all the mowing done, weed eating, edging, and leaf blowing done. And again, it's only good for 15 minutes, at best? my gas mower uses half a gallon of gas and runs for a hour no problem, cost me literally nothing over time, and is easy to work on. No thanks, EV is stupid.

Hey Scotty thats a really expensive lawnmower. My dad used to buy the newest most expensive thing everytime it came out. But the prices always went down and a more useful version of it would come out. Thats why we like you because you don't fall for all these gadgets. Hire a yardman or a teenager that would like to have the money. Its totally worth it as you start getting older. The yard is not something you probably want to do forever.
The best thing is the older technology that will last forever, and Scotty mentioned it, too. Just like the manual transmission.

My Greenfield 17 HP 34-inch cut ride-on mower is 24 years old & still going stroung.
That electric bike is nice. So nice in fact it’s essentially a small motorcycle. So it would be debatable whether it should require a license.

The crazy postman has been doing videos on this mower for a long time and loves it and doesn't have problems. It was easy to set up, too. On several acres. You also have to set up no go zones. You obviously didn't read the directions. 😂
I don't know what electric lawnmower brands you have in the USA, in Europe, particularly in Sweden we have a wide range of brands, Gardena being one of them. We bought our Gardena 5 years ago, brand new for about 1200$ it has done nothing but worked, no breakdowns whatsoever, everything just works as it's supposed to do. So there are good ones out there.

We have a Roomba vacuum and it sucks. Runs out of juice, gets hung up,can’t go over a transition without getting stuck. A real pain

I got a different brand for a lower price and I love it! Saves me hours and I spend time with the family instead. My favorite piece of tech.
If you unlock that e-bike to 37 MPH where I live, you’d have to register it as a motorcycle and have a motorcycle operator’s license. The kicker is that to register as a motorcycle, it has to have a VIN which can be registered (not sure about this bike). I had a friend that tried a different bike unsuccessfully. Now for reality - - the cops would have to catch you exceeding 20 MPH, and most of the time cops have better things to do than hash on the groove of bicycle riders. The usual common sense applies. As long as you aren’t a jerk, you probably won’t be hassled.

the only battery powered equipment i own is a milwaukee trimmer and that is a sweet tool.
Should have waited for the Terramow Scotty. It does everything you need to do squat. Just turn it on and let it go and figure out your lawn.

I have two mowers at the moment one has a Briggs & Stratton engine the other one is a Honda ,the one "American engine" is in parts it blew a head gasket & burnt the exhaust valve because the engine is actually made in China.The Honda is still going however it has only mowed the lawn 5 times & the engine in it is also made in China, so it does not matter what brand you buy the engine will most likely be made in China.
My Ryobi push mower is 6yrs old never had an issue.
Scotty should have got the Italian made Ambrosia 4.0 or larger models, it’s the Toyota of robotic lawnmowers.
All of those ride on mowers are the same thing under the skin, you paid bigger bucks for the green paint.
