  • This pattern is eerily good. Lance ties up his variation of this popular stillwater pattern.

    Lance, I tied up a variation in color for shiners. Worked Great!! Incorporates so much movement with the longer tail. Thanks for the pattern. It goes into the must-have box.

    Awesome!! need to attempt a few of these. new to tying. It's cool to see Lance tying a streamer. I feel like because of his being a world class nympher you only expect to see videos of him tying red darts and frenchies. Goes to show anything he ties is bonafied badass. A little late but I listened to the podcast you guys did with Jim at the Reno flyshop. Enjoyed it. I live in northern Nevada and fish the Truckee as often as possible. I'll save this fly for the Wiper and Crappie in Lohantan resivoir though. Thanks for the upload!!

    That's Nice! What I would like to see from you fly tying guys is what they look like in the stream after you tie one....just for effect.

    Cool fly! I would have to say it would look like a minnow. What else could you use other than 7X Tippet? Like 4 lbs leader?

    When fishing this pattern in rivers do you typically dead drift this, or swing it?

      max9343 I fish it most in lakes, but it works well in rivers too. I usually strip it but you will find it’ll work in all the scenarios you listed.

    I like to fish slumpbuster style streamers on a euro leader. Could I use this same principle and tie that style fly with a long zonker tail?

    When you say that it doesn't foul as often what do you mean

    • @RodolfoArechiga
      @RodolfoArechiga 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jonah Ericson most likely that the tail won't get wrapped around the bend of the hook

    Is there a reason why you use tippet over wire to capture the hackle?

    • @Cheechfisher0311

      Nick Liszka Tippet is actually more durable.

    What other color combinations could you tie this in?

      Sky's the limit. This is more of a style than an actual pattern really. Gold works well. Orange and yellow for craw imitations, etc

      Paul Kruse not really anything specifically. It’s kind of an attractor.

      I fish this on reservoirs in the U.K. it's meant to represent a bait fish swimming in the water and is used to target fry feeders in shallow water. Fry feeders in UK waters tend to be larger because of their high protein diet so it's a killer competition pattern for hooking above average sized fish 👌
