Yes!!!! I have been trying to do the same, instead of having notes here, there, and everywhere. Creativity is far more than artwork on a page, this is why YT needs to allow creativity to flow outside of the typical content box ;) Thank you again for your varied and creative content
@@MaryellenHacko I've been rethinking the way I do my journal and was wondering if you have any specific way you organize your book? Or, do you merely add to your book in chronological order, no matter the subject?
Super cool notebook! When I see someone flip through a notebook that actually was practical I always think "that is what an aesthetic notebook should look like". I love the kind of randomness and it really inspired me to see your journal!😁
Jim Rohn suggests going back and rereading your journals every so often. Like once a month read a new journal if you collected many over the years, or read a journal every 3 months or so. This way you are always combing over your ideas, or rethinking old ideas with new insights and getting new ideas or revisiting old ones. When you do this, use that time to color code your ideas in each journal you read, you can put a colored dot there, draw a symbol, or circle & highlight, whatever is OK for you. Or my favorite is to have a "master journal" that stays on a book shelf somewhere and never leaves the home, and is sectioned off into basic categories that are important to you like travel, health, nutrition, education, favorite memories etc and then add your biggest insights and takeaways into the master journal in its appropriate spot or category. Make sure you identify it some way as your master journal, so you you dont confuse it with your other journals. But leave it somewhere you can access it easy. This way, you don't disturb your original notes, but have a professional & organized one you can refer to in a pinch.
I agree...The Commonplace book is a place for thoughts from other people, not your own. If you're putting your own thoughts in a Commonplace book, it can be considered a journal, so I don't understand why the woman in this video doesn't know that. Did she do any research before making this content?
I just got a note book today I’m super excited about !

I like that desk/table
I like how big your commonplace is! Mine is smaller but I do like that one a lot….already going to go out and buy another one 😅
Haha yay! Nothing better than a fresh journal 😍 And yes I prefer the big size because I can mind map things and organise thoughts visually!
I like the sketches of yours 🥰
Thank you for giving me this idea about commonplace book 📚🎉
That's not a commonplace book!!!
Those sketches are very nice!
Awesome sketches!

But how do you organize the ideas within the book?

An index. Or you can colour code based on themes, topics, people, quotes, etc.
i have that exact lap desk lol
Where did you get it from?
I’d be scared to loose that somewhere
Interesting, but that's not what a commonplace book is.
