    I love having solar zones in my house where I have a power station and solar panel to power that area. Cool stuff

      Shoot with winter coming I might have a few setup along with my main system to heat my house with small electric heaters.

      @@OffGridSolarSmartHouse I just grabbed some wifi switches as well. I can see that working out pretty good as needed.

    You've deployed power stations better than anyone I've seen on youtube. Well done!

    Wonder why they decided to turn off the AC plugs when charging when other units do allow pass through charging with AC

    • @OffGridSolarSmartHouse
      @OffGridSolarSmartHouse  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This was very upsetting for me once I discovered the no passthrough for AC. I actually thought my unit was messed up. I had to call tech support and they told me about this and it is listed on the specs. Seems dumb to me they left this out. Probably to cut costs.

      @@OffGridSolarSmartHouse Yea, same here. i just bought the 1300 a few days ago, havent even got it yet, and I am already 2nd guessing my decision now, and that it cant be returned. I was thinking about getting a DC to AC inverter so i can add AC plugs when charging, but the DC port is limited power to like 60W i believe, so it cant power too much.

      Do you plan on using it while charging it with solar panels?

    • @LeeeB0
      @LeeeB0 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OffGridSolarSmartHouse not sure yet. i bought it more for emergency use rather than day to day usage, but i can imagine a situation where i may need to charge and use at the same time during a power outage or camping. Can you confirm if you can use the Car port (cigarette lighter) input when charging?

    • @OffGridSolarSmartHouse

      @@LeeeB0 Yes, you can.

    Nice set-up. Does Rockpals support passthrough charging. Meaning when you set up the solar panels can you still keep all those electronics powered? Or must it solar charge separately? Same question if plugged into a 12V accessories socket (formerly known as cigarette lighter) to charge, will it still charge ask simultaneoulsy power electronics if one is car or RV camping? - thanks!

      When charging via solar panels the ac power cannot be turned on. It does support DC passthrough weirdly enough. Yes you can charge the unit with solar and power the cigarette plug. The Ac outlets due not work when charging though.

    My husband and I are looking at getting this power station for emergencies. We've had a lot of power outages the past two years and need something to power our fridge. How would this do and how long could it power our fridge?

    • @OffGridSolarSmartHouse
      @OffGridSolarSmartHouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Amanda, this power station can power a fridge for around 10 hours if not a little more. It wouldn't have any issues with a refrigerator.

    Not too sure about the solar panel in the window area. Let us know how that works out. Thanks for the inspiration.

    That's a huge computer monitor. Do you sit really close?

  • @lezbriddon
    @lezbriddon 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    A monitor draws what about 30w, so your gaming machine is taking 100w at the windows desktop, so yeah I can see how you can get 10 hours of desktop, but what about actual gaming, surely then your drawing 300 to 500w? So maybe 3 to 4 hours?

    • @OffGridSolarSmartHouse
      @OffGridSolarSmartHouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Plus the cable router 24 watts. While gaming the rockpals says it's drawing 400 watts to 500 watts. Good guess 👍 Yes about 3 to 4 hours.

    How good is because looked so basic

    • @OffGridSolarSmartHouse
      @OffGridSolarSmartHouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's good for emergencies situations. It's basic but sometimes basic fits your needs. If your looking to power something 24/7 and need it to. Charge quickly I might go w something else. If your looking at blackouts and want to keep your TV on and fridge cable modem this will do.
