for the grind vs gameplay argument, i think most popular rpgs (my example, p5) are the perfect example persona 5 is almost entirely gameplay, as the grind is completely optional, even if it is encouraged through devices such as powerful bosses and side quests required to complete confidants. its fully optional, as you progress levels at a pace good enough as to were you simply dont need to grind unless you are somehow underleveled from missing enemies or there's the rare slightly unbalanced mini boss meanwhile, games like riu and yba have you go through the storyline (with sudden difficulty spikes and level gaps in rius case), then when you are done it leaves you there and lets you figure out what to do, how. a good storyline will end with you being at the level cap or extremely near, not 20 levels away for yba (at prestige 3, at least), or *60* for riu. a good storyline will most likely mention methods through which to power yourself up, such as persona 5's storyline teaching you about darts and confidants, not leaving you to figure out what items to give to who and where on your own if riu and yba want to make an attempt at having a happy playerbase, they would learn to make levelling better and generally make the game easier to figure out.

I think eclipse should play deepwoken, since it’s a game that merges grind and gameplay into a hybrid, and make it actually challenging and engaging to level up and get your gear, along with all the diversity you can have in your character, to builds to origins and to your special talent cards. It’d be great to see him at least attempt Deepwoken, although I think he might not like how theres a lot of “i dont know where to go” because there isn’t much direction but once you get to the action it’s definetly worth it. Deepwoken is rough around the edges but overall its a good game.

Eclipse I watch a good majority of your videos on battle field and have played the game myself and I wasn't basing it off of exclusively the grapple hook that was my fault for not making it more obvious but I was referring to the balancing of the game as you mentioned. You are totally correct about the grapple hook though the grapple hook simply got me thinking about how unbalanced the game itself is. Again sorry for not making that obvious in my first comment.
"I actually grinded tusk act 4 in under 12 hours" That person wrote that entire sentence and thought it was a reasonable thing to say. That is half a day. You could finish any amount of chores or work you have in that time, instead of doing some mind numbing and boring grinding for 12 whole hours.
Yes, a lot of grind isn’t fun, but if you have a little grind that doesn’t repeat one quest and maybe has some fun tactics that can be good. What I want to say is I don’t enjoy grind, but if it’s not taking too long and has fun aspects then it can even be good, because it is also rewarding for people if they get something cool after working a grinding.
Grind is at its worst when that’s all there is in terms of progression, which a lot of roblox games like this seem to be guilty of, made worse by the fact that very few have legitimate storylines to follow, and just have you go from one quest to another, until you hit max level
I noticed you mentioned Shindo Life briefly, about something completely unrelated to playing, and I don’t expect you to play it. Shindo Life has a lot of grinding and boring things like that, but the pvp is pretty fun. I just wish they didn’t have infinite combos just as unfair as YBA. If they balanced it a bit I bet you’d love it, but sadly that will not happen.
some people just don't understand that games should not have to basically make you work for over 10 hours in order for you to have fun. It is a game. In games, you are supposed to be having no matter where you are; that is the point of a game.
While like, 90% of these reactions are MORE than fair, I can't help but laugh a little about the whole 'finding things instead of being explicitly told where they are = bad game design.' I get it in huge maps like RIU's, but excessive handholding is also bad game design. Considering a lot of things are 'important' in most games (haven't touched RIU though, so if it's mostly filler that's pretty funny) chances are you'd be overloaded with information or location markers, and you'd be just as lost for a good five minutes minimum. As I said, this'd easily be solved with a map function, a 'you are here' marker on it, and a 'filter for' option. It'd be better to just have a map in your menu where you can filter fir key locations and NPCs.

I think eclipse should play deepwoken, since it’s a game that merges grind and gameplay into a hybrid, and make it actually challenging and engaging to level up and get your gear, along with all the diversity you can have in your character, to builds to origins and to your special talent cards. It’d be great to see him at least attempt Deepwoken, although I think he might not like how theres a lot of “i dont know where to go” because there isn’t much direction but once you get to the action it’s definetly worth it. Deepwoken is rough around the edges but overall its a good game.
He already said this in a past video that he won't be playing deepwoken...

@@2miligrams i think that is what the game was going for, a challenging game that makes you anxious to even take a step or you will die with the giant beasts and tons of people that can kill you at any moment to wipe your progress. 100% not everyones game, but considering a majority of the fanbase came from rogue lineage most people probably knew it was going to be like that

Eclipse going insane makes me happy, also please play persona 5 royal it recently got ported to pc and its one of the best games ive ever played.
Hopefully I'll get around to playing it as well as finishing 4, but those aren't exactly games that I'd play on the channel, and more so something I'd do in my own time

Eclipse I watch a good majority of your videos on battle field and have played the game myself and I wasn't basing it off of exclusively the grapple hook that was my fault for not making it more obvious but I was referring to the balancing of the game as you mentioned. You are totally correct about the grapple hook though the grapple hook simply got me thinking about how unbalanced the game itself is. Again sorry for not making that obvious in my first comment.

Yes, a lot of grind isn’t fun, but if you have a little grind that doesn’t repeat one quest and maybe has some fun tactics that can be good. What I want to say is I don’t enjoy grind, but if it’s not taking too long and has fun aspects then it can even be good, because it is also rewarding for people if they get something cool after working a grinding.
Grind is at its worst when that’s all there is in terms of progression, which a lot of roblox games like this seem to be guilty of, made worse by the fact that very few have legitimate storylines to follow, and just have you go from one quest to another, until you hit max level

I noticed you mentioned Shindo Life briefly, about something completely unrelated to playing, and I don’t expect you to play it. Shindo Life has a lot of grinding and boring things like that, but the pvp is pretty fun. I just wish they didn’t have infinite combos just as unfair as YBA. If they balanced it a bit I bet you’d love it, but sadly that will not happen.

some people just don't understand that games should not have to basically make you work for over 10 hours in order for you to have fun. It is a game. In games, you are supposed to be having no matter where you are; that is the point of a game.

While like, 90% of these reactions are MORE than fair, I can't help but laugh a little about the whole 'finding things instead of being explicitly told where they are = bad game design.'
I get it in huge maps like RIU's, but excessive handholding is also bad game design. Considering a lot of things are 'important' in most games (haven't touched RIU though, so if it's mostly filler that's pretty funny)
chances are you'd be overloaded with information or location markers, and you'd be just as lost for a good five minutes minimum.
As I said, this'd easily be solved with a map function, a 'you are here' marker on it, and a 'filter for' option.
It'd be better to just have a map in your menu where you can filter fir key locations and NPCs.
