I have a different idea of selecting KV, i usually don't just go with the kit (meaning meta) type setups. I like to run lower KV on higher voltage, this is for a more efficient package, plus headroom on maxing out specs. In my experience, using lower KV's on higher voltages lowers the amp use for a particular setup. For example, for 6s setups i prefer a 1200KV motor. on 6s it's around 24-24K rpm so stays well within the max of 50kRPM most of the cheaper motors run. Also due to the higher voltage there is a lowered amp use in the setup. Geared properly (meaning not to the moon), you can get more runtime per charge and lowers the stress on the batteries. The setups you talked about are good and they work well, I just like to experiment on efficiencies and runtime with my setups. BTW around 2007 I had an RC10GT converted to brushless with an old Lehner 1200XL, I had that running on a 5s 2500mah Flightpower pack, That setup was good for 30+ minutes on a charge and was geared for 30-35 MPH. Using an Eagle tree, it never pulled more than 50 amps on a blacktop launch
I like how you answered the question everyone wanted to know, how big of a motor can you stuff in this truck. I always look forward to your painting videos.
Thank you for the insight! Expecting my LMT to arrived by the end of the month and was in a dilemma to put which electronics in it and your video pretty much answered it! Awesome video and keep up the good work!
What a great video. Very informative information. I'm just a RC hobbyist and enjoy working on my cars just to have something different than stock. I've been wanting an LMT for a while now but was going to get a RTR just because I mess up quite a bit when I order parts for a car I'm upgrading. The best part about this video is all the valuable information you provided without getting over technical. Awesome job. 💯%
The body is unreal bro, almost a hot wheels. Once you put the biggest motor you can possibly fit in er, wife says don’t stop there stuff even a bigger one in it. Beautiful creation.
I just got a Losi LTM and the shocks seem really short. I would think they're adjusted to optimal performance before shipping. But should I adjust them??

@@hemistormrc I just upgraded my XMAXX and put the big Venom 9000 batteries in it. Big mistake as the chasis cracked within 10 minutes!! The extra weight was just to much I think. You can get a 25T servo saver from Losi for this as well. What are the options for using the gear cover when the motor shaft bumps into it? The only thing I can think of is drilling a hole large enough in the gear cover large enough for the spline to poke through. Or adding spacers behind the motor mount plate?

Hmm, this should also fit my Toro X8T Truggy 1650kV (sensored) motor, and as long as it fits normal square Lipo batteries it should be good. For a budget motor and ESC it wasn't as terrible as I thought, and the sensored combination makes it a lot better to drive.
