Sturgeon in a cast net is wild! So glad to see them, when they get older those will definitely be some majestic beasts. Seeing the little ones gives me hope that their populations are growing so that’s such a privilege to see!

The new rig works great. video quality is excellent and the sound is nice and crisp. All the new holders seem to work out as well. Really good upgrade.
If you have sturgeon in the waters you fish for cats, I'm a bit shocked you haven't landed one on the pole. Over here in the PNW we use large shad, Anchovies, and squid as bait for them. And the rigging is fairly close to what you use.
We don’t really try to catch them in Tennessee they are very protected here if we catch one Twra says take a picture and put it straight back in the water

The DJI osmo action series is amazing for the price. Been using the osmo action 3 and it does very well. The 4 looks really good too. That will be my next cam! Keep at it Dave!

Twra started releasing lake sturgeon in the knoxville area back in 99'. I've caught 1 in a net , never on a rod here. And they are not game fish in tn.
Great video. What do you think that fish weighed. You dont mention the weights of some fish. Your a pro and handled enough fish to have a pretty accurate guess on weight. We that watch, trust your guess. I get that being alone makes it hard to scale them.
The camera is a good'un. The mic will take some adaptation on your part but for the first video with it you did above average for sure. Have you seen some of the "first time use" videos here for those mics? lol The dog barks, leaf blowers, deer hunters, and super-powered bass boat motors will not be anywhere near the audible level they used to be. Notice I didn't say trains because I like trains. 😉 Dave, I never miss a video. I reckon you're gonna have fun with that camera. Now, about those sturgeon… …you need to buy some sort of lotto ticket. Also, the slow-mo dive, no splash releases are an outstanding touch in my opinion. Especially on a nice blue like that one. It just looks cool.
I like dave. He don't long arm the fish like everybody else. He don't try to stick them up in the camera and try to make them 10 times the normal size. That's the only way I can really tell how big they are is when you hold them close to your body

It all makes sense now. Dogs, leaf blowers and pleasure boaters are fishing demons sent to distract him from doing the Fishing God's work.

Will they bite on small live bluegill on a 3-way rig? Occasionally, I use cut bait.
