The current Everest Sport And Platinium have a GVM of 3150 & GCM of 6250, I would expect the Tremor is the same unless Ford give it a GVM/GCM upgrade due to the suspension mods. I can’t find any info to support this have you more info. I have a new Tremor and love the car
Thanks for your review. Excellent breakdown of the difference to a Prado. As a 2021 VX 150 owner it’s always interesting to hear why people change their direction of vehicle brand. We felt the tech in our 150 was so outdated when we first picked up our vehicle it was like stepping back in time. Toyota have always held back tech. Best thing in 150 is fuel capacity. Cheers from Adelaide
thanks for the video, GCM at 6350 , GVM at 3350 and payload at 918kg seems reasonable for most caravan towing situations however careful weight management still required for a fully laden van at 3500kg ATM. very good compared to the Prado though 🙂. The Ford Ranger Super Duty will be much more adept at the higher van weights of course buy may not come with the same trim levels. Thanks again
With a Tremors gcm 6350kg take the 3500kg for the caravan you have 2850kg left, take 2550kg off for the car it self and you have 300kg load capacity left. Then take the 10 percent off for the caravan ball weight which is 350kg you are 50 kg over your gcm without even having any passengers in the car.
Awesome rig love the colour btw can you please do some more details how you wired the saftey Dave behind the glove box would be good to see the connections heaps of Ranger and Everest owners would love to do the same
thanks for the video. @11:40 Ford tech is pretty good - shame at this level they don't have a digital camera as standard as pretty cheap tech. Would be interested in a short clip showing how effective the 3 little LED driving lights on the front grill are like. Maybe even cover the headlights.
Hi how to get through the firewall remove the V6 badge on the side of the car and drill a hole large enough for your cable feed the cable into the cab . seal around drilled hole and replace the badge. Hope this is helpful.
Great vehicle and couldn't agree more about comparison with Toyota. Toyota have always played the marketing game well. Using simple words like unbreakable and legendary to really bait people to playing way overs for decade old tech. People have to get smarter.
Totally agree, and I think we are seeing that change. I note a few weeks after the Prado 250 came out here was a wave of complaints and issues. We are three weeks into the Tremor actually landing and Im not hearing any issues at all. ... watch this space I reckon.
Thanks for the great video We get ours beginning of April. Longest 3 months of my life 😂 Question: When you said you had a little sag in the back suspension when towing, how much ball weight have you got? And what’s the Tare weight of your caravan? Thanks 👍
sure. I may do that. My cam was an AHD (approx 3 years old). Wiring was as below. Safety Dave Cable 4core-1.5m. Everest TREMOR LABEL on Cable Red POWER+ Black GROUND & AUX Cam- (Joined) Yellow AUX Cam+ White (audio ignored) Sheild (ignored)
You will need to reasses what you are going to do as there is no chance you can tow a 3.5t caravan. Mate no chance.
Tow ball weight is included in GVM but not GCM as already included in the 3500Kg ATM. At 3.5 tonne the remaining GCM payload is 300Kg and remaining GVM payload is 340Kg, taking the lesser of the two. If my maths is correct, Tremor has more payload (with and without towing) than a stock 250 Prado, 200 Series VX and 300 Series Sahara. Ford have put some thought into the vehicle.
@joshpike9562 yes my mistake you are correct, ok then so if you take the 3.5t out of the gcm it leave you with 2850kg, take the car kerb weight from that leaving you with only 300kg carrying capacity left. Let's be generous and say 2 adults weight between 90kg to 100kg each it leave you with roughly 120kg to 100kg to be Able to put in the car. What's that a full fridge and second battery. 3500kg plus 2550kg for the car and the 300kg left over equals at 6350kg right on gcm. Am a huge fan of the tremor and am looking at getting one but people think that they can put 3.5t behind it and then add all these accessories and puts you over really quickly. Watched a video recently with a new ranger and 3.5t caravan the guy didn't even have enough left over on the front axle weight to put a bull bar on and that was with nothing in the ute just ute him his miss and van. They had 50kg left on front axle load
@@LVNITUPM8I agree, I wouldn't be towing 3.5 tonnes either as it's right on limits, but that's true with any wagon or ute hence big $$ on GVM/GCM upgrades. Towing 3.5 tonnes is more suited to a truck.

Totally agree with you on the tech, Toyota seem to like to play it safe!

Im unsure of the ball weight, I dont weigh it each time I load the van. However th van tare is 2100. You will love the Tremor.
