lol. As I came here to comment, it was alraedy done by many 🙂. That freaking rubber band man... I think it can be used rope or other material that can resist more, but still, it's coooool.
Yeah. It seems the only downside is wearing out the rubber bands. I think you could use a spring instead of a rubber band to keep it from popping up, if it was the right kind.
Apart from having a great workshop cat, that's an innovative idea 😄. How did you think of it - did it come to you in a "complete package", or has it gradually emerged from various experiments? I'm often curious about how creativity expresses itself.

Thank you. I had this idea, after I saw all these different solutions for pop up bench dogs with extra hardware and thought this must also be possible only with a rubber band. The rest was trial and error.
Stephan Pöhnlein Thank You! My ideas come when I'm in the sleepy transition stage of just waking up, usually after fretting about a problem for days. Your solution certainly has simplified the previous "mechanical" ideas on the commecial market.
Auch wenn ich das selten brauche, ich mag so Sachen die man für die Gelegenheit zur Hand hat und nicht zu suchen braucht. In Spanien würde man vielleicht sagen: "quita y pon"

That's really slick! I very well might do that to my bench. Have you run into any issues with sawdust clogging it? Thanks!
Thanks! No problem with sawdust but from time to time I must change the rubber bands.

Very clever.

I may do the same thing with a paper clip as a decent spring.

Was soll ich nur sagen? Super wie immer!! Welche Musik war das?
Danke Henning, die Quellenangabe zur Musik findest Du in der Beschreibung!
Stephan Pöhnlein Danke! Wer lesen kann ist klar im Vorteil:)
Great idea! How will you keep the rubber bands from wearing/drying out - or will you just replace them?
Thank you, I replace them.

Bench cat
I don't understand the necessity of these, manual ones work just fine and on these you have to leave the dog round and round dogs suck!
Lol 😊
